An Invaluable and Practical Guide to Product Discovery
Revisado: 05-08-22
I could not put this book down! Literally finished it in one day. Talk about an absolute game-changer. I'm currently struggling with a few challenges at my own startup and, to my pleasant surprise, Teresa directly addressed virtually all of these challenges AND gave step-by-step advice on how to best proceed. The timing could not have been better. I now feel incredibly inspired and full of ideas to take back to the team.
I've read many business books, and there's no doubt about it; this Continuous Discovery Habits is an instant classic that deserves a spot amongst the greats. It's for sure going on my very short list of favorites.
To anyone one the fence, take the chance and make the purchase. You won't regret it.
Thank you Teresa!

Historia
The shift toward automation is about to create a tsunami of unemployment. Not in the distant future - now. One recent estimate predicts 13 million American workers will lose their jobs within the next seven years - jobs that won't be replaced. In a future marked by restlessness and chronic unemployment, what will happen to American society? In The War on Normal People, Andrew Yang paints a dire portrait of the American economy. Rapidly advancing technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation software are making millions of Americans' livelihoods irrelevant.

A hard a look at where we’re at coupled with solutions to get us where we need to be.
Revisado: 03-17-19
This is a fantastic exploration of where we’re headed as a society if we continue blindly down our current path. A large part of the book focuses on the issues we’re facing, but the author also proposes very intelligent solutions (Universal Basic Income being one of them).
As a resident of Silicon Valley, I’m on the forefront of the wave of automation discussed in this book. Let me tell you that it is very real and well underway. For example, it’s not at all uncommon to see prototypes of self-driving vehicles being tested on the streets on San Francisco or Mountain View (where Google HQ is located).
But the future doesn’t have to be bleak and dystopian. With the right policies in place, we can all benefit from these advancements. Traditionally, technology has made our lives better and we have the power to choose whether or not this remains true.
The ideas proposed in this book make a great deal of sense to me and I encourage everyone to have a read for yourself. At the very least, you’ll be much more informed about true state of our nation. And, if you’re anything like me, this book will leave you feeling excited by our potential and inspired to participate in creating a better future for us all.

Most people wouldn't expect a schoolteacher to amass a million-dollar investment account. But Andrew Hallam did so, long before the typical retirement age. And now, with Millionaire Teacher, he wants to show you how to follow in his footsteps. With lively humor and the simple clarity you'd expect from a gifted educator, Hallam demonstrates how average people can build wealth in the stock market by shunning the investment products peddled by most financial advisors.

Read this book!
Revisado: 11-02-17
I've read several books on investing and Millionaire Teacher combines much of the wisdom into one simple, easy-to-understand, book.
Love his explanation of what the stock market actually is. The dog on a leash analogy really made things click for me.
The only downside is the spelling out of web addresses, but don't let that deter you.
Read this book! And then go buy some index funds :)

Release your product quickly, then be ready to morph.
Revisado: 04-02-17
This book was very informative, but the most helpful takeaway for me was what I learned about the Morph phase.
I have a tendency to really latch on to my initial idea and this chapter helped me understand that this mindset counterproductive. You need to be open, flexible, and willing to change directions (or morph) when the market is telling you to do so.
Not only that, but it is all but guaranteed that version 1.0 of your idea will NOT be a home run. A number of successful businesses that we know and love today started off as something completely different. Only by morphing were they able to finally find product market fit.
So let your first Idea drive you to QUICKLY produce and release a product. But then after that, you need to listen to intently to the feedback of your customers and be prepared to morph.
Knowing this, has taken a lot of the pressure of me to create something perfect in the lab that is my head. We may think I know what people want, but there is often a big difference between what we think people want, and what people are actually willing to use or pay for .
Now, my only goal is to produce a MVP (minimum viable product) as quickly as possible so I can start gathering feedback. The sooner I do this, the sooner I create a product that people love.

Historia
For 18 years, Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and Alastair Smith have been revolutionizing the study of politics by turning conventional wisdom on its head. They start from a single assertion: Leaders do whatever keeps them in power. They don't care about the "national interest" - or even their subjects - unless they have to. This clever and accessible book shows that the difference between tyrants and democrats is just a convenient fiction.

Why the world is the way it is
Revisado: 12-27-16
This book was absolutely eye-opening. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of how power and politics shape our world.
To summarize, the goal of any leader is to stay in power. In a democracy that generally means keeping the a large portion of the population happy. If a democratic leader doesn't keep the majority happy, they will be voted out by that same majority.
In a dictatorship, the leader is beholden to a much smaller group of people so they only need to worry about keeping that small group happy (i.e. rich). As long as they do that, they will stay in power even if the majority of their people are starving.
I'm not really doing this book justice though. Please read if you can. If we want to have any hope of making the world a better place, we need to first learn the rules of the game. The Dictator's Handbook does a fantastic job of laying out those rules.
Bravo!

Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Revisado: 07-20-15
The book is basically a compilation of well written articles from Forbes Magazine. Each chapter discusses a different founder.
After hearing how these founders made their fortunes, I feel a little bit wiser and slightly more versed in the art of business and building a company.

Revisado: 07-11-15
As a fan of Entourage, I have to say I was NOT disappointed. Take everything in the book with a grain of salt of course, but as far as entertainment goes, this book is a home run. Last but not least, Jeremy Piven provides some of the best narration I've ever heard! This production of this audiobook is top notch.
