Good story but the narrators are all over the place

Definitely enjoyed this way more then I thought I would. Rebecca is fantastic at writing humor in the friend groups! My big complaint is the narrators aren’t consistent in how they pronounce names, the guys who voices xaden doesn’t say names the way violets voice actress does and it messed up the end of the story for me big time. Pronunciation needs to be consistent.

Fun listen!

Did I understand anything in this book? No. Did I enjoy listening to it? Yes! Brb gonna go watch an explanation video!
But I did really like listening to this story! You have to be paying attention to all the little details, otherwise it’s very easy to get lost. The characters are wonderfully written and the story is very immersive.

This series very quickly became my favorite I’ve ever listened to! The world building and characters are something else! Elizabeth Evan’s did an amazing job narrating these books! I can’t wait for the next book!

Good story but narrator is slow

So far I’m enjoying the story a lot! The characters are likable and it’s a fun story!
The narrator speaks very slowly and I found I needed to speed the story up a lot.

Beautiful story

Such a beautiful book! It’s a bright, colorful story that’s easy to follow and enjoyable from start to finish! Definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a quick listen! The narrator is fantastic, she really captures the emotions of all the characters!

Pleasantly surprised

Based on other reviews I had my doubts this one, but this is the first book I’ve enjoyed in a long time! The world building isn’t that complex, you get all the information you need to understand the areas and magic system, something I really appreciated. There’s smut in about 4 of the 26 chapters, they’re well written and didn’t make me feel like a fly on the wall hearing something I shouldn’t! Definitely give this one a shot, keep an open mind going into it!

Had me hooked!!

This is the first book in about a year and a half I’ve actually loved and couldn’t stop listening to!! The story is amazing and the characters are just as great! Most of the time books are hard to get into during the beginning, but this is an exception! Super easy to follow and stay focused to! I couldn’t recommend this book enough!

Toxic and problematic

Compared to the first book, the narrator did a much better job, definitely more feeing was conveyed. However the book itself was incredibly difficult to get through. The main characters are toxic to one another. The main guy is abusive and the main girl is naive. Multiple times throughout the book he sexually assaulted her, but it’s deemed as “fine” since they’re mates?? Abuse shouldn’t be fantasized.

Story was standard but the narrator ruined what it had going for it

The overall story was alright, definitely had me interested in what was to come. However, the narrator made it almost unbearable to listen to. She spoke as if there were two spaces in between each word. The book itself has some pedo and assault moments within the main characters “love” story.
