This book was terrible
Revisado: 01-24-24
The narrator was sing song and sappy. The story was unrealistic. Did not take into consideration the characters and what they would go through. Such a waste of time.

Island Affair was just ok. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great.
I liked Key West as a background character. All the love that was shown to Key West was really great. I liked the chemistry between Sara and Luis. I also like that it was a fast listen. I feel like I didn’t waste too much of my time.
What I didn’t like was the story. It was cheesy and shallow. The problem that both main characters faced was handled trivially. Although both are serious issues they seem to be addressed in a very afterschool special way. Which lead me not to care about any of these people. The worse part of the book was the ending. The book just seemed to stop. The distance was not addressed. Sara’s business situation wasn’t addressed. I don’t know if I missed why he was on forced leave but that wasn’t addressed either.
I would not recommend this book to anyone else to listen to invest their credits.

Great classic murder mystery. Although I figured out The Who, I keep listening for the how and why. The Narrator was excellent. I love all his voices.

Love this book
Revisado: 03-26-18
After listening to the book for the second time, I remember how much I loved it. There is no way the movie will be able to do a good job on making the magic happen. The story is so beautifully told. It's a love letter to the 80's.

SO disappointing!!!
Revisado: 06-13-15
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger and disappointment. This book got such good reviews from Entertainment Weekly. I really hated the main character. She was mean and unhappy.
Any additional comments?
I really hated the main character. She was mean and unhappy. She seemed to want to make others unhappy too. At the end of the book the author seemed to set-up the idea that there was hope in her changing. I found that so unrealistic. I didn't see her changing in anyway.

Shockingly disappointing
Revisado: 12-26-13
What disappointed you about Allegiant?
After reading the first two books I was sure that Allegiant would be a great wrap up. But this it seem like the author just want to write something and be over with it. The story went in some weird direction that didn't follow the first book. The bloodbath that was consistent throughout this book was totally under necessary. The excitement that was in the first and second book was missing.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ender's Game to be better than the print version?
I really enjoyed Ender's Game. I could see how many other books have taken ideas from this book. The characters were deep and complex. The story will stick with the reader.

Somewhat disappointed
Revisado: 12-26-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
After reading the reviews I believe that this would be somewhat of an interesting book. However the books send it to be somewhat slow and in parts dull. I began to care less and less about the main character.
Do you think Life After Life needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
This book definitely does not need a follow-up. I'm pretty sure there is nothing more the character has to say.

Maybe this should be the last Stephanie Plum books
Revisado: 12-26-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Takedown 20 does have the usual funny moments throughout the book. But it doesn't seem that Stephanie Plum has anything more she can say or do that is new and refreshing. It seems like takedown 20 is a rehash of some of the older Stephanie Plum. Although I like the character I think it is time to and Stephanie Plum.
Could you see Takedown Twenty being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Actually I do believe that the Stephanie Plum series would be a great showtime or HBO series. It would be something funny and great to watch. I think that is the direction the character should take. I don't think that movies would be a place Stephanie Plum would be able to grow as a character.
