Still excellent

Tamora Pierce and her books were a highlight of my school years. I bless the librarian that pointed them out to me, and their covers in my personal collection are worn and cracked from rereading them. Excellent writing, action packed storytelling, and comedic relief sprinkled along made them some of my favorites.
To be honest, the Protector of The Small quartet has been my favorite of all of her books, because she has no other gifts except her stubborn determination, compassion, and dedication to her responsibility to those she cares for. This makes her relatable to us lowly humans who struggle with just those qualities. Reading and listening to this series as an adult brought me the same feelings as when I was a child, and I hope many many people can enjoy it as much as I did.
Bernadette did a wonderful job in her reading, and I would recommend not just this book, but ALL of Tamoras' books to children, teens, young adults, and regular adults alike. "A well written children's book will be enjoyed by children and adults alike", as Tammy says.

I really enjoyed it

I like the writing and the performance brings out the sass of the characters, which I also enjoyed. Honestly, a bit of well placed comedic relief is good in those very tense moments. I also really enjoy Sean Runnettes' voice.

What a ride. Am sad it's over.
Finished all 12books, and Mr. Brown is an amazing writer. Loved it so much that the 12 books are now a physical part of my library.
I felt so many feelings. I laughed, I cried, I laughed, and then bawled. The scenes allowed me to create the image in my head and saw it play out in my minds eye. Sometimes it was so vivid that I had to stop several times to think, or cry some more, or put things into perspective.
The zombies captured my attention, the story captured my imagination, and the characters were as real as my family, friends, and neighbors.
I'm not going to hype this up anymore, except to say that I very much suggest this series.
Like, A LOT.
Also, the narration was excellent. He does different character voices and helps to flesh everyone out. Essential to the audio version.
