He's back
Revisado: 04-15-25
It is so refreshing to have Sam back as the narrator and so exciting to know he narrates the remainder of the series. His passion and pace really help to bring the story alive.

Historia
In the world of Warbreaker, each person is born endowed with the power of one Breath―which can be sold and collected by others, then used to Awaken objects and even corpses to do their bidding. A few individuals who die in glory return as gods, with the power of thousands of Breath, but no memory of their mortal lives―and are enthroned in the Court of Gods in Hallandren’s capital. To Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris, the abuse of Breath and the claim of the Returned to be gods are repugnant blasphemy.

great world building
Revisado: 08-24-24
Brandon Sanderson has always been one of my favorites, but this book was exceptional. The world building, character arcs, the overall journey through the story, and the narration was top notch. 11/10.

Historia
The second novel in the wildly popular First Law Trilogy from New York Times best seller Joe Abercrombie. Superior Glokta has a problem. How do you defend a city surrounded by enemies and riddled with traitors, when your allies can by no means be trusted, and your predecessor vanished without a trace? It's enough to make a torturer want to run - if he could even walk without a stick. Northmen have spilled over the border of Angland and are spreading fire and death across the frozen country. Crown Prince Ladisla is poised to drive them back and win undying glory.

Engaging and addictive
Revisado: 01-26-22
Rosamund Pikes narration of The Eye of the World was wonderfully engaging and a joy to listen to. She brought the characters, scenery, and story to life in a robust, elegant, and emotional way. I have read this book before and I feel as if I was drawn more into the story than my mind on its own could provide. I strongly recommend this narration and I hope she continues to read the remainder of the series.
