dear old Spike as awesome as always
Revisado: 11-19-23
This is wonderful stuff and at times I feel the nostalgia as badly as he did. Spike moves from the comedic, to serious, to pathos, to the sadly sublime so deftly that I can only marvel at it. Absolutely amazing and tinged with sadness at the same time because there will be no more from him.

Historia
In this book, Erich von Däniken shares the story of his friend Adel H., an Egyptologist who, as a 16-year-old boy, was trapped for days under the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. Based on his conversations with Adel H., he retells the boy's search for a way out of the underground world, how the boy roamed passageways and chambers and saw what he calls "impossible" things of which the professional world is completely unaware.

Excellent and mostly correct
Revisado: 11-02-23
This is an interesting tale even if you don’t buy into it. Well researched and well written. I do believe him however, even if I feel he’s a little wide of the mark on some points - after all that’s how science is supposed to work, it’s rarely a revelation but rather a series of refinements. Excellent book.

Historia
In this iconoclastic and provocative work, leading scholars Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman draw on recent archaeological research to present a dramatically revised portrait of ancient Israel and its neighbors. They argue that crucial evidence (or a telling lack of evidence) at digs in Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon suggests that many of the most famous stories in the Bible - the wanderings of the patriarchs, the Exodus from Egypt, Joshua’s conquest of Canaan, and David and Solomon’s vast empire - reflect the world of the later authors.

Detailed and informative, gives a clearer understanding of the exaggerations of the Bible; understandable when you know it’s propaganda like purpose.

Historia
Less than fifty thousand years ago mankind had no art, no religion, no sophisticated symbolism, no innovative thinking. Then, in a dramatic and electrifying change, described by scientists as "the greatest riddle in human history," all the skills and qualities that we value most highly in ourselves appeared already fully formed, as though bestowed on us by hidden powers.

As usual with Graham’s work I’m blown away by the sheer breadth of his research. Nothing escapes his attention and this he is able to pull together the threads into a highly believable conclusion. Amazing book.

Usual insightful Mr. Hancock
Revisado: 04-10-23
Excellent… I think I might prefer when Graham narrates his own books, however, this narrator is very good… he has that very academic voice that fits the material. Personally I agree with Graham on pretty much all points and every year it becomes more obvious that he is correct. Highly recommend this book.

Reading other reviews I’m aways amazed by those who place unlimited faith in governments - isn’t that what “trained scientist” means? Authorized by the government? No thanks. Give me an independent, enquiring mind - I am able to discern nonsense for myself, I don’t require an institution to do this for me. Like all of his work, this book is excellent, thought provoking and wonderfully delivered. Oh… and correct!

Stunning Academic Work
Revisado: 12-28-20
As usual Graham Hancock is the disciplined voice of alternate history. His research is superb and detailed, his conclusions compelling. He is also one of the very few authors who should narrate their own work, he has just the right voice for it. Highly recommend this book.
