Ummm what even is this?
Revisado: 10-10-24
At first I was just really disappointed in the narration. It was obviously not either of the 2 good SASHAS (both JD Ledford and Kate Rudd did a great job) and I wanted to be forgiving but this was really bad. Like not even pronouncing characters names as they had been pronounced in the past several books plus a general lack of any kind of personality. Then I realized the story was also just bad. Like so much repetition and referencing past books in such an obvious but not charming way. It seems like this book was the obvious cash grab that had actually been referenced in a funny way in a previous book except it wasn’t funny. If you want a continuation of beloved Rex Nihilo adventures, this book isn’t it.

Was looking forward to this book for like idk 10 years. ever since it was announced but it was a huge disappointment. I think the title says it all.

So funny. So well done. Listened again and again.
Revisado: 01-21-20
I can't say enough good things about this audiobook. Not only is the story itself hilarious and engaging and fun but the narration is perfectly done, like just so refreshingly great. I have around 160 sci-fi and fantasy books in my library and this one tops the list.

This book does not deserve all the hype it gets
Revisado: 03-08-19
sure it's a little funny and Stephen Fry does a great performance but the book itself is kind of awful. This story is not that good it's completely disjointed and I get that that's probably intentional but you just end up with nothing to root for and nothing and no one to care about in the story. It's like you're just listening waiting for something to happen but it never does.

Awful and Gross
Revisado: 10-18-18
This book must have been written by a self-hating bisexual man with a creepy oedipal complex for other self-hating bisexual men with creepy oedipal complexes because you would have to be one to enjoy or relate to this book. T main character is not only perpetually annoying but also just a horrible human being and not in a fun way like oh he's an anti-hero. In a gross, creepy, disgusting, weird, you want to punch him in the face kind of way.

Historia
Hundreds of years ago, the last humans on Earth boarded the Exodus Fleet in search of a new home among the stars. After centuries spent wandering empty space, their descendants were eventually accepted by the well-established species that govern the Milky Way. But that was long ago. Today, the Exodus Fleet is a living relic, the birthplace of many, yet a place few outsiders have ever visited. As many Exodans leave for alien cities or terrestrial colonies, those who remain are left to ponder their own lives and futures.

The Title Says It All
Revisado: 10-13-18
As with The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet the title tells you exactly what the story is about. It isn't some big space adventure but the story of a few spaceborn peoples lives at a certain point in time. As always Becky Chambers delivers a character driven and enjoyable to read novel. I think it could have benefited from a bigger plot as it was interesting to hear the perspectives it all felt a little directionless and left me wanting something or someone to hope for/root for. as with many people I am wondering why we were made to fall in love the crew of the Wayfairer and then given 2 sequels in which they do not appear. You struck gold with those characters use them! Give the people what they want! For the record Pepper, Blue and OWL are awesome too. Anyway great job on this one. I just had my hopes set on seeing the loveable characters of the first 2 books again.

Not the kind of book you listen to
Revisado: 11-02-17
You know an audio book is going to suck when they introduce 10 charchters and 20 places in the first 2 minutes. this audio book was so hard to follow. I here the actually book is hard to finish and convoluted, so much so it has indexes and glossaries to help you understand fuck is going on.
