Historia
The complete finale of the hit BBC Radio 4 sitcom- 2 episodes. Cabin Pressure is set in the wing and prayer world of a tiny, one-plane airline, staffed by two pilots, one on his way down, and one who was never up to start with. In this, the finale of the whole series, we discover that for MJN Air, whether it's choosing an ice-cream flavour, putting a princess in a van or remembering your grandmother's name, no job is too small, but, many, many jobs are too difficult.

Some characters are one-dimensionally allegorical
Revisado: 09-10-15
Great story and very compelling. Prose is captivating, though it is true (as many have commented before) the author is especially thorough at describing various sandwiches enjoyed throughout by the protagonists. This book makes strong philosophical points about power, gender, transparency, social welfare, human rights of the mentally ill and accountability in business and journalism. In service of these arguments, some characters are one dimensional.
Trigger warning for survivors of sexual violence, the book contains depictions of such acts and you may wish to avoid it if such depictions are traumatizing to you.
Still, it's excellent and I recommend it. The performance was stellar.

Historia
Something really strange is happening in the City by the Bay. People are dying, but their souls are not being collected. Someone - or something - is stealing them. No one knows where they are going or why, but it has something to do with that big orange bridge. Death merchant Charlie Asher is just as flummoxed as everyone else.

Excellent, but make sure you've read A Dirty Job first.
Revisado: 08-29-15
Christopher Moore is the king of absurd humor, and this book doesn't disappoint. We revisit all of the awesome characters from the first book and see how they've coped in the year since Charlie Asher's "death". If you haven't read A Dirty Job, this sequel may be impossible to appreciate fully.

Captivating and very human, but not totally satisfying.
Revisado: 08-09-15
I really liked this story. There were sections that were as riveting and relatable as anything I have read lately. I especially like the dichotomy between the hipster Seattle post-college scene and the military. Both absurd in their own way, but both full of very likable people sometimes doing unlikable things. This part seemed honest and important. This story does not tie up every loose end into a neat package. I suppose that is very real, too. It's just not very satisfying. The Mani character seemed underdeveloped, as well.
