Always a comfort listen. Serkis is top tier when it comes to narrating. A fitting end to the trilogy.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

The voice acting was amazing!
Revisado: 03-20-24
A sleeper hit you need to read. The story is compelling and the science behind it is super fun to solve with the characters. The voice acting was on point. This can’t be missed!

Historia
Moonhallow harbours a dreadful secret, and it keeps the populace in a perpetual state of anxiety – not that the town's ruthless arbiter is prepared to do anything about it. Across the great forest to Moonhallow's east, Galen and Doralia Ven Denst return from a gruelling mission for the Order of Azyr, seeking shelter in the mysterious Temple of Silence. However, the two witch hunters won't get much in the way of a warm welcome from the strange priests that reside there as the temple has its own secret, the ramifications of which are inextricably tied to the fate of Moonhallow.

Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Okay but not great.
Revisado: 06-26-23
I’m more looking forward to the rest of the series. My partner swears that book two is really where you can decide if you need to continue. This was beauty and the beast with a much more fleshed out world. The audio performance was great though with so many characters. Would recommend so you can continue with the series and see if it’s for you!

Historia
The Siege of Excelsis is over at last, and the survivors count the costs amidst the rubble of their city. Even for Galen and Doralia ven Denst, two of the most feared witch hunters in the Order of Azyr, the horrors they have witnessed are not so easily dismissed. Struggling with the traumas inflicted by the siege, Doralia's concerns only grow when her father disappears into the wilds of Ghur. As she sets off on his trail, Doralia begins to suspect that Galen is hunting down a dark secret from their past - one that might hold the key to a new threat rising to engulf Excelsis.

Great Epilogue to the Broken Realms event
Revisado: 05-29-23
If you enjoyed the story of the Broken Realms books ( the transition into AOS 3rd edition) then this is a great vignette for the siege of Excelsis.
While the first half of the book was a little slower it eventually ramped up and the last 25% was great! Made me want to bust out some models and play it out on the table top.

Historia
Heldanarr Fall dreams of a world without gods. When the Azyrites descended upon the Burning Valley – a kingdom carved from the Aqshian desert – they brought arrogance and cruelty with their riches, and a god who seemed blind to it all. Despite harrowing losses, Held clung to his people’s ways, forging a new existence without a single prayer to the armoured deity, Sigmar. Now, all Held wants is solitude. But after saving a Sigmarite priestess from violent death, her troubles catch up to them and destroy the last of his peace.

Really unique perspective within AOS
Revisado: 05-29-23
While this story may start out a little slow it masterfully takes a unique perspective of a native of the wilds in the realm of fire and brings you along the twist and turns of his ascension through his path to glory. Anyone who plays or likes the Slaves to Darkness faction in AOS will adore this book. Noah Nguyen did an amazing job and some of his lines are absolutely striking. Definitely in my top 5 Black Library books.
