The only place small-town outcast Alex Lawson fits in is the online fan forum she built for The Arcane Files, a long-running werewolf detective show. Her dedication to archiving fictional supernatural lore made her Internet-famous, even if she harbors a secret disdain for the show’s star, Devin Ashwood. (Never meet your heroes—sometimes they turn out to be The Worst.)

Intriguing characters
Revisado: 04-16-25
I would like to congratulate the author of this novel. Of between two and 300 romances I’ve read in the past few years, I believe this is the first male lead who was under 6 foot tall. Now he may have been 5‘10“ not much different but still, it took courage to the author to pave the way for good looking short men everywhere.
It wasn’t just the one characteristic that made for great characters. I love it when the protagonistshave their own quirks, weaknesses, idiosyncrasies, and maybe a bit of craziness Like we all do. These two had their problems to solve, and they did it in a very humorous and entertaining manner, which made for a fun and entertaining read.

Ancelet Bay, Louisiana, on the surface is a peaceful and quiet little town. It seemed to be the perfect place for workaholic Rusty Martinez to detox and deal with destructive habits that had affected her health. The respite, however, comes with some unexpected side effects, one of which is a plastic flamingo-wielding neighbor who suspects Rusty is a terrorist.

They didn’t give a person a clue when providing the plot summary, or listing the genres what kind of a “romance” this was. Nowon the one hand, my favorite TV episode of all times was the one from. The Last of Us which was a funny and touching story about two gay men. However, there was no getting hot and heavy in the bedroom as it was in this one. Sorry, but I just can’t get enthused about that kind of romance. However, all I had to do was fast forward to the end of the chapter, and something else would begin.
the plot about finding the “peeper” was intriguing, although not exactly 5 star exciting.
If you are the type of person who likes to see men as depicted as inferior beings, you might also enjoy this story, especially the groveling towards the end. The character of Neil was an exception, although he, too, was described as a baldheaded crybaby.
The narrator was good, but I have one warning. If you listen to Audio directly from your iPhone to your hearing aids, beware. When the character gets screaming mad, the reader gets really loud and nearly blows out your eardrum.

A naturalist who spent months at a time living on her own among wild creatures in remote jungles, Sy Montgomery had always felt more comfortable with animals than with people. So she gladly opened her heart to a sick piglet who had been crowded away from nourishing meals by his stronger siblings. Yet Sy had no inkling that this piglet, later named Christopher Hogwood, would not only survive but flourish.

Step one in starting my new life: Don’t fall for my shrink. Scratch that. Step one is settling my daughter in our new small town life. So what if it’s the set of a reality TV show? I agreed to let cameras follow me around, but stay the hell away from my kid. And screw the storyline about a grumpy single dad finding love. I’m here for the fresh start. It’s bad enough I’ve got these sessions with sexy psychologist Mari. Mari and her foul-mouthed parrot and her love of quirky trivia.

Good enough
Revisado: 03-24-25
The novel Was not earth shattering, but still worth reading. The humor and well-developed characters made for great entertainment. I loved the African grey parrot as a supporting character, something unique from any other novel I’ve read. Both protagonist had strengths and weaknesses, and even the antagonist had redeeming qualities.
Both male and female readers were exceptional and could do both male and female voices and sound believable.
my only suggestion is for romance writers in general to stop using the phrase “you make me a better person“ it’s becoming as trite as “you complete me.”
The ending was touching at first, but developed into a cheesy Hallmark ending, but I will admit, I’m probably in the minority when I say, I wish we could have something different.

I’ve brokered billion-dollar deals as the man in charge. I can handle a challenge. But Vanessa’s not just any challenge. The whip-smart finance magician has me tripping over my tongue—and other parts—when we team up to launch my family’s reality TV show. Between a sexy waterslide romp, adopting a dog, and a hike that lands her bra in a tree, we’re dangerously close to mixing business and pleasure.

Finally an author that knows how to craft dramatic action.
Revisado: 03-24-25
It’s a good thing. Today is Sunday because I had to listen to this book nonstop all day until it was done. It was that good. It should have all five stars from everyone because it’s way superior to other books that have a higher rating.
The author knows how to take ordinary characters and make them extraordinary. They’re clever, funny, attractive, and interesting. Not like those romantic boring characters that are the smartest wealthiest most powerful yada yada yada. Well crafted character should be multifaceted with faults and weaknesses which these have, and which makes them all the more appealing.
Dramatic action consists of a series of events that increase in intensity until the climax occurs and the conflict is resolved. Finally a romance writer who knows how to do this! She introduces the two main conflicts early and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end, but still gives you hints in case you’re the type who likes to guess for yourself. She’s not like most of the romance writers I’ve read lately who wait until the book is three -fourths done to introduce the major conflict or make the bad guy someone you didn’t even meet until the end of the book. I hate that.
The ending was sweet, but not so saccharin sweet that you felt like you just t ate a whole chocolate cake you are about to throw up. It was just perfect and the romance scenes were touching and arousing but they didn’t go overboard. Sometimes I think romance writers go on and on about bodily fluids just because they can’t come up with any better plot. But not this one. I cannot wait to continue to read the rest of the series.

Joss Lennon was shy. Sweeter than any baked good. Outta my league. Her life was cupcakes, hand turkeys, and working too many hours to pay the mortgage her ex-fiance dumped on her. Mine was strip club drama, breaking hands, and working too many hours to fix the dumpster fire my cousin left me. I had no business sniffing around Joss. No business wondering about her pent-up wild. It would be selfish to drag her into my wicked. That wasn't gonna stop me.

Finally, a more developed antagonist
Revisado: 03-22-25
Wild, wicked obsession is by far the best of the series. This one held my interest throughout the entire novel, well, not counting the second saccharine -sweet epilogue, which seems to be a requirement of all romance novels.

I’m one who has always felt that a well written villain can make or break a novel. I hate it when the antagonist pops out of nowhere. “The Butler did it, even though the reader didn’t know the Butler until the very end.“ In this one, we got to know and even suspect, and maybe even like the antagonist a little bit. The second antagonist was a bit of surprise , but was not a completely under developed character.
Finally, the two main protagonist were not created as superior beings over everyone else in the world. They both had their weaknesses to make them more interesting. I felt the author even accentuated the fact by having the second protagonist call Joss “perfect perfect perfect“ making that the severest of all criticisms! Keep up the good work, LeaLa Frost!

Piper Skye is rock 'n' roll. She's party all night, sleep all day. She's get wild and be free. Or she would be if she had the time. And the energy. And not being so awkward would probably help, too. As the owner of a thriving dessert business, Piper spends her days at school and her nights elbow deep in batter and frosting. She's confident her hard work and sacrifice will pay off as long as she stays focused and sticks to the plan. Jake Hyde is a workaholic with a jaded outlook on life.

Go back to novel writing 101
Revisado: 03-19-25
I’m quite confused as to why this novel is rated as highly as it is. To me, it doesn’t even follow the rules of writing.1. Main characters should be round, multifaceted to make them identifiable yet interesting. I was encouraged at the beginning when are FMC said she didn’t believe in rainbows butterflies and fairytale endings. But then she and Jake got together and he was all hot hot hot and she was all perfect perfect perfect and that’s the way they remained making for a boring boring boring story.2. A plot should be centered around a major conflict with events, gaining in intensity as the climax nears. There was no real conflict in this story until it was nearly 3/4 the way completed. Sure our couple would have their little tiffs but no reader would take them seriously. I do have to admit that I did a fair amount of fast-forward so maybe I missed something but I don’t think so.3. When involving suspense or a surprise twist at the end, the writer normally includes for shadowing or hints of some kind so the ending may be surprising, but the reader will go “ha ha I should’ve thought of that“. However, the ending was so totally contrived, it’s no wonder no readers were able to guess. The main culprit whose name shall remain anonymous went from normal to completely insane with very little justification. Yeah yeah, she explained it later but too little too late. By the way, most of the action is explained after it happened, which is breaking a fourth rule —action should take place in the moment.
On the other hand, if you are the kind who likes really really sweet, lovebirds, and really really cute cuteness, then you will no doubt like it.

HEW, not always the best way to end.
Revisado: 03-18-25
If you believe, in a happily ever after ending, no matter what was done by the protagonist during the story, then this is the story for you. Personally, I’m not too thrilled when a protagonist cruelty tortures and murders and plays God without regret, doesn’t really deserve that kind of ending.

Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Meh
Revisado: 03-13-25
It was entertaining enough to read through to the end, but that’s about it. For my taste,it lacked intensity. It was supposed to have humor, but I didn’t find any. The suspense was there, but nothing that really grabbed a person. The romance was there, but again Meh. but if you like stories that are gentle and not controversial, this might be for you.
