Narrator sounds like a robot
Revisado: 07-19-21
The narrator isn’t the worst ever but about 85 percent of the time she sounds like a monotone robot. Really not a good fit for this type of book.

Stupid move after even stupider move
Revisado: 06-28-21
This book is nothing compared to the rest of Thalassa’s books which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I was annoyed the entire book because the main character is a huge idiot. She just does the dumbest things and and asks no questions. The book as a whole is a lazy surface level version of the authors prior books. Such a disappointment.
Also the narrator pauses way too long between sentences about 80 percent of the time.

Another good book ruined by a poor choice of narrator
Revisado: 09-21-20
It upsets me when a narrator is just so wrong for a particular book. This narrator may be good for non-fiction where all you want is someone to read the words. But he is awful for this. Bad accents. He sounds far older than anything of the characters. He never uses any other tones/voices. Just the same voice for all characters with the exception of bad accents. He’s just so bad for this book.

It starts of slow, but oh my gosh is it worth it! I really cannot understand the how anyone could give this anything less that five stars all around. The narrators performance is so perfect and so Murderbot! The author’s sense of humor is spot on. I was cheering and laughing in my car to and from work. Seriously, please please please write more of these!

Sweet Story and Very Enjoyable Narration
Revisado: 05-05-20
The story was sweet, funny, and entertaining. The narration was perfect. The narrator didn’t just read but he acted which always makes or breaks and audiobook for me. I’ll be listening to more form this author and narrator.

Historia
Two years ago, Louise le Blanc fled her coven and took shelter in the city of Cesarine, forsaking all magic and living off whatever she could steal. There, witches like Lou are hunted. They are feared. And they are burned. As a huntsman of the Church, Reid Diggory has lived his life by one principle: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. But when Lou pulls a wicked stunt, the two are forced into an impossible situation - marriage. Lou, unable to ignore her growing feelings, yet powerless to change what she is, must make a choice. And love makes fools of us all.

Nasaly Male Narrator
Revisado: 02-13-20
I really want to finish this book but the male narrator is terrible. He reads too fast and is incredibly nasaly. Some of his character voices are so quiet I can barely hear it.

Historia
In just a few years, today's children and teens will forge careers that look nothing like those that were available to their parents or grandparents. While the US economy becomes ever more information-driven, our system of education seems stuck on the idea that "content is king", neglecting other skills that 21st century citizens sorely need.

So much filler!
Revisado: 12-03-19
The book has great concepts but it was excruciating to get through. So much filler and few distinct action items. Instead the book goes on and on and on with endless examples. I get it, examples help make the point, but really they were endless. A few would do. It’s like a realtor explaining the benefits of living indoors to someone who is already trying to buy a house!
The writer’s language and examples are dated too. Do I really need to be told what Wikipedia is? Think about your audience: probably people with young children who know what Wikipedia is!
I will try to find a pdf of the main points of the book because they do make sense. It was just hard to filter what those are with all the babbling on and on and on.

I was already obsessed with this series but even more so now. The dynamic between the two main characters, Lothaire and Elizabeth, was perfect. They had me laughing out loud.
It also felt like this book gave out a lot more Lore detail beyond the main characters than usual which I loved. I’d listen to these books for the Lore stories even if there were no phenomenal sex scenes.

Narrator ruined it
Revisado: 12-06-17
Half the time I couldn’t hear the narrator even though my volume was quite high. She wasn’t consistent with sound level even within one sentence. When a character was yelling she would do the oddest thing and essentially whisper. And oh my goodness, when a character actually did whisper, the narrator whispered so quietly I had to replay and turn it up to even hear what was said. Just awful. Now I cant enjoy the series.
