Historia
On a day that begins like any other, Hal receives a mysterious letter bequeathing her a substantial inheritance. She realizes very quickly that the letter was sent to the wrong person - but also that the cold-reading skills she's honed as a tarot card reader might help her claim the money. Soon, Hal finds herself at the funeral of the deceased...where it dawns on her that there is something very, very wrong about this strange situation and the inheritance at the center of it. Full of spellbinding menace and told in Ruth Ware's signature suspenseful style, an addictive thriller.

Historia
A beloved culinary historian's short takes on six famous women through the lens of food and cooking - what they ate and how their attitudes toward food offer surprising new insights into their lives. It's a lively and unpredictable array of women; what they have in common with one another (and us) is a powerful relationship with food.

Good short biographies
Revisado: 08-26-17
enjoyed the book , but the premise of food stories was not fully realized. I would recommended if you want a quick book.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Great Book.
Revisado: 08-02-15
Hard science - science Fiction book. Immensely enjoyed listening to it. I had listening to the audiobook for Apollo 13, this is a little bit more dramatized but still have the same field of authenticity.

Paris. The name alone conjures images of chestnut-lined boulevards, sidewalk cafés, breathtaking façades around every corner: in short, an exquisite romanticism that has captured the American imagination for as long as there have been Americans.

A romantic look at a American in Paris
Revisado: 05-25-15
More Parisian culture then Paris tour book. I got the book to get ready for a weekend trip to Paris and was looking for more history and sites to see - like Bill Bryson. But it was a nice romantic look at the authors insights in two Parisian and American culture

Michael Lewis great as always!!!

Very good story, that is told well. The ending did not seem to wrap up the book or characters, but enjoyed it a lot.

Historia
On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest. Breq is both more than she seems and less than she was. Years ago, she was the Justice of Toren - a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of corpse soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy. An act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with only one fragile human body.

Not as good as all the acclaim
Revisado: 03-18-15
The book had an interesting story with really just a long beginning and good end with no middle. It was on a lot of best books lists, but would not be on mine.
