Not bad
Revisado: 01-10-25
Cute and would have been a much better listen without the liberal charged politics. Just made the author seem like a whiner. Also they write Erin more like she’s 12-15 than 20. Frankly it was annoying the crap out of me and only made the main character seem pathetic until I just chose to envision her as 15 instead and ignore any mention of her age the same way I ignore the whiney politics. Once you block all that out it’s much more entertaining.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. Of course, that's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers (or NPCs) to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

This was a really fun book, and I loved the approach to the dynamics of the economy of the world, which I will be incorporating into parts of my D&D game. :-)

Historia
For over 30 years, Dominion of Blades has been the hottest online role-playing game in the world. But the game is too real for some, and after an epidemic of real-life fatalities, public use of the immersion technology has been banned. Jonah wakes to find himself in-game, level one, with no memory of how he arrived and no way to eject. With only two companions, trapped in a world that once hosted millions, Jonah must battle his way across a treacherous landscape, fighting virtual monsters, all too real pain, and a very human enemy.

Good plot hook but annoying AF
Revisado: 11-07-23
Plot had me a little hooked, but the characters are ENTIRELY TOO FOCUSED on genitalia to the point of annoyance and stupidity. Main character is all like "now that I have a cock everything feels right." That's idiotic. I have one, and more often than not it's uncomfortable. That's why men walk differently. If it was just one or two conversations it wouldn't be so annoying, but it's constantly brought up. You would think with the life and death stakes they would have more on their mind.

Historia
Robert "Bubba" Brabham never wanted to hunt monsters. He mostly wanted to drink beer, hunt deer, and chase women, like every other giant redneck in the world. But life interfered, and Bubba found himself holster-deep in the family business: monster hunting. Now he's the Southeastern Regional Hunter for the Holy Roman Catholic Church...Bubba has to save the world from the things that go bump in the night! Just as soon as he's done with his beer. And maybe after one more lap dance.

Very disappointed
Revisado: 10-19-23
I was hoping for another “monster hunter international” but instead I got the Supernatural fanfic of a liberal teenage girl that hates her redneck stepdad. The writing comes across as condescending and satirical towards the redneck culture, the liberal view is blatant in the writing, and aside from just that the jokes are juvenile and obvious, the plots are predictable, there are continuity errors and overall it’s just lazy writing. On top of that there are just a lot of factual inaccuracies about technology and guns. I would keep looking

Historia
For generations, nobles have gathered at a scenic estate once per year to compete. What transpires there is spoken of only in rumors, save for the prizes. Potent, powerful, and precious; the winners are said to receive a gift from magic itself. Reeling after their loss to Kalzidar, the adventurers from Maplebark can only press forward, following advice imparted by the gods. Their divine directions will lead them on a series of twisting paths, branching between old friends and new challenges, before ultimately pointing at a particular estate on a specific evening.

Fantastic
Revisado: 03-07-21
I have now come to the end of this book series that is currently available on audible. I absolutely loved all the books and I’m sad there isn’t any more. Chad was my new favorite character which is amazing considering how much I loved the initial main protagonists. Definitely listening to this series again soon. Also going back and leaving five star reviews for every other book in the series since the authors absolutely deserve it.

Pretty good
Revisado: 12-08-20
Listened to all of the audiobooks so far, this one was good and I’m still going to continue listening to the series. My main complaint is that the performer couldn’t be bothered to listen to parts Parts of previous audiobooks to find out how names were pronounced. Also, Julie didn’t sound quite right. As far as her voice I would’ve expected something harder with more of an edge. Her personality is supposed to be like a Hells Angel child went to college. Her voice was kind of soft and wispy. Good voice for a romance novel, didn’t fit the character.
