Historia
Quinn Davis may have too many responsibilities on her plate, but she's making it work. Mostly. After her parents died in a tragic accident seven years ago, Quinn stepped away from her own goals and dedicated herself to filling their shoes. She spends her days as the president of her father's charity foundation, her evenings as a drama teacher, and the rest of her time as the family caretaker.

Loved the way the narrator captured emotions in each character, espcially the excitement in the children.

let's hear it for the ladies
Revisado: 06-03-20
I liked that this book gave more of an origin story than previous books. I hate that every girl in these stories is small, and somehow only weighs 90 lbs. i like that most of the women in these books are independent and strong,, but seriously, how realistic is this image? Not sure if I will pursue another jack reacher novel.

Also departing from New York that day—and heading in the opposite direction by train—was a young journalist from The Cosmopolitan magazine, Elizabeth Bisland.

detailed and beautiful story
Revisado: 03-18-17
this book is very long, but describes in beautiful detail, the excitement of adventure in traveling around the world to beat the clock before the invention of planes, or phones. Two women, who travel alone, when women were not thought of highly. There is adventure, but also a complete biography of both women. I loved it.

Historia
From the celebrated author of The Secret Life of Bees, a magnificent novel about two unforgettable American women. Writing at the height of her narrative and imaginative gifts, Sue Monk Kidd presents a masterpiece of hope, daring, the quest for freedom, and the desire to have a voice in the world - and it is now the newest Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 selection. Hetty “Handful” Grimke, an urban slave in early nineteenth century Charleston, yearns for life beyond the suffocating walls that enclose her within the wealthy Grimke household. The Grimke’s daughter, Sarah, has known from an early age she is meant to do something large in the world, but she is hemmed in by the limits imposed on women.
