Historia
From a manual for witch hunters written by King James himself in 1597, to court documents from the Salem witch trials of 1692, to newspaper coverage of a woman stoned to death on the streets of Philadelphia while the Continental Congress met, The Penguin Book of Witches is a treasury of historical accounts of accused witches that sheds light on the reality behind the legends. This volume provides a unique tour through the darkest history of English and North American witchcraft.

Nothing
Revisado: 03-17-24
She read documents but didn’t bother to explain what the old language used meant. I had no idea about half of what she read meant. It was very boring and confusing.

Historia
Before Alex Marzano-Lesnevich begins a summer job at a law firm in Louisiana, working to help defend men accused of murder, they think their position is clear. The child of two lawyers, Alex is staunchly anti-death penalty. But the moment convicted murderer Ricky Langley’s face flashes on the screen as Alex reviews old tapes—the moment they hear him speak of his crimes—they are overcome with the feeling of wanting him to die. Shocked by their reaction, Alex digs deeper and deeper into the case.

Too confusing jumping around
Revisado: 02-15-24
She jumped in & out of time & switching from her life to Ricky’s life. Hard to keep up with who, when & where. Not even sure what or if there was a point or actual ending for anyone.

Historia
The Japanese invasion of China during the Second Sino-Japanese war has left a strong legacy of hate and disgust among many Chinese today. Much of the atrocities committed by the Japanese are now known to most historians. Under the leadership of Dr. Shiro Isshi, the Japanese subjected three thousand to 250 thousand innocent men, women, and children to cruel experiments and medical procedures that were carried out by the brightest medical students and staff that Imperial Japan had to offer. In this edition, we expanded on the background info of Unit 731.

Too much of reference instead of stories
Revisado: 01-11-24
Very slow & monotonous, mostly referencing what topics of atrocities of & 2nd hand stories of opinions instead of actual stories of incidents.

Historia
For years he'd stalked elementary schools and playground looking for young girls from low-income neighborhoods to abduct, rape and murder. He thought of them as "throwaway kids" - hardly missed, and soon forgotten, except by those who loved them. He was ever parent's worst nightmare. The bogeyman they warned their children about ... the fiend who lurked outside bedroom windows.

Bogeyman?
Revisado: 03-10-21
It was hard to keep up with each victim & detective. Narrator didn’t use enough different or expected feelings from each detective. All sounded the same, mostly calm & accepting of circumstances, which made it hard to know who was talking at the time & were they angry as what most people would have been.

Too skipping around
Revisado: 09-11-19
Hard to follow, too much skipping around. Reader was not good at betraying the killers voice. Made him sound very old & easygoing, not menacing or cold.

Historia
For the first four months of 1942, U.S., Filipino, and Japanese soldiers fought what was America's first major land battle of World War II, the battle for the tiny Philippine peninsula of Bataan. It ended with the surrender of 76,000 Filipinos and Americans, the single largest defeat in American military history. The defeat, though, was only the beginning, as Michael and Elizabeth M. Norman make dramatically clear in this powerfully original book.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-29-18
I was constantly confused trying to keep up with all the jumping around with the different characters & especially with the timeline. The ending was the worst I have ever heard.
