Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

I enjoyed it effortlessly!
Revisado: 12-11-24
The homage of having Rosamund Pike narrate the unabridged novel, was a pleasant surprise! And with such a clear and compelling voice— I completely enjoyed this performance from start to end! I also followed along with my kindle and it doubled the immersion. This is the first time I have read Pride & Prejudice in whole and I loved it so much more than both the 95’ and 05’ film adaptations! Highly recommend!

New York Times best-selling author Alison Weir tells the spellbinding tale of the last days of Henry VIII’s second wife. Soon, one sword stroke sends her into eternity. But as her remains rot in the sun—unblessed by coffin, marker, or funeral—few know the truth behind her swift demise.

More angles than before!
Revisado: 12-19-19
Alison Weir is one of my favorite biographers. She is contemporary in her language, yet always preserves the elegance of the time she depicts.
I very much enjoyed Judith as the narrator, for not only does she enunciate without having to slow pace, but she captures the accents of quoted people within this book.
What I love the most is that Alison mentions many sources and doesn't claim them to be fact, but she does admit which one she thinks to be more accurate! Loved it entirely!

But it is not until they reach the depths of the Northland that the courtier learns the horrifying and inescapable truth.
