Long, engaging, riveting.
As a listener you are thrown into an historical setting (beautifully written by Kathryn Le Veque) and well narrated by Guy Veryzer.
His tone matched the mood of the book and made this very long journey worthwhile.
If you enjoy medieval settings, strong characters, adventure, intrigue and romance, this is the audio book for you.

Complexities of love.
I love books (in every genre) that know how to build people's characters in a way that seems real and believable.
Isobel Starling wrote a story about people who share connections, who are struggling & need to take a leap of faith while entering a new relationship. I enjoyed the journey they took to heal themselves.
Well narrated by Gary Furlong who always manages bring to life in an animated way each character.

What a Wolf Dares
Revisado: 09-23-19
Narrated by Sophie James, What a Wolf Dares is a fast paced book , with easily relateable characters, enjoyable plot and good world building.
Sophie does justice to both Remy and Sophie. I admired Sophie for having the courage to leave and end an abusive relationship.
The shifter world isn't easy for female characters and Sophie showed great strength.
The romance was a delight. good balance between action and romance will keep readers/listeners entertained.

Second chance romance
Revisado: 09-16-19
This was a sweet second chance romance.
High school sweethearts, Pru & Holden had the future planed out, but life had a different plan.
Once you get past the typical tropes (Holden leaving without world, Pru being heartbroken and unable to forget him, her losing her father etc...) the story grabs you and you root for them to find happiness again.
The road to that isn't easy, they have to build trust again and believe that this time around they will make the right choices for the both of them.
The narrator did a good job bringing those two characters to life.

Historia
When someone needs to disappear, the Chicago mob calls on Joe Rossi. A man who can move without a sound and kill without a word, they don’t call him the Shadow for nothing. This time, it’s a New York crime family in need of his skills, but it takes one glimpse of her to make him agree to the job. Liliana Marcello is every inch a principessa della mafia. Her life has taught her to be wary of strangers, yet her ballet career contradicts everything by putting her on display. It’s a man with a dark smile and a constantly changing demeanor that makes her feel safe again.

Captivated
Revisado: 09-05-19
Daniel James Lewis was a good choice as a narrator for this book.
His tone and manner always matched the various moods , situations the characters faced in the story.
Bethany-Kris writes mafia books that keeps you engaged and she does that by writing strong heroines . Her female characters have character, are rounded and aren't just a prop meant to showcase the male lead. They have dreams, ambitions, drive and are not sheltered but knowledgeable.
Lilliana Marcello might be a dancer but she is fragile. She knows her worth. She also knows what being in a mafia family means.
After meeting Joe, she was intrigued and ready to uncover the mystery that was the "Shadow".
I enjoy mafia books were both parties are on somewhat equal footing. This was the case in Captivated and that brought me the greatest enjoyment.
A dancer and a Hit man can make a good pair. It might sound like a cliche, but its believable when you have people who know the underworld and how to navigate life as a part of it.
The relationship between the two was compelling and the narrator brought it to life beautifully.

Vile
Revisado: 08-11-19
Vile is another good installment in the "Face of Evil" series.
I appreciate books that revolve around kick-ass female characters . Jess is strong, smart, capable. She tackles every situation head on and does everything in her powers to protect the people she loves.
The road to happiness and contentment is never easy, but even more so for Jess & Dan. She keeps fighting the good fight.
Evil has a name, but even knowing the enemy, Jess needs to work hard at solving the current mystery.
I enjoy a good series that keeps challenging the heroine. Jess is constantly on her toes and due to the narrator, so are you, as a listener.
Debra Webb does a good job of keeping the pace of the current book, making it easy to get familiar with the world she built and enjoy the action and suspense.
Joan Dukore's narration matches the "tone"of the book, its moody, intense and keeps you entertained.

Laurel Schroeder has the great gift of narrating a book and keeping the listener riveted!
Great series by Linsey Hall full of action, kick ass heroine, drama, romance and female friendship!
I love the world building and each character as they come to life thanks to Laurel Schroeder.
The distinctive accents were well preformed and and added depth and layers to the protagonists.
A wonderful addition to the series that shows the strength of Nix as she uncovers secrets and the truth about herself but still manages to overcome and show resilience.
I loved her determination and courage!
Hours of pure listening pleasure.

Revisado: 08-06-18
The charm of Dex is present as ever.
Even after all he went through, he is still the person we rely on to be strong, steady, loving.
But he is also changing.
Dexter is the heart of the series and he and Sloane are the perfect couple.
They have issues to deal with, but overall, in this stage of the relationship, they are rock solid.
I enjoyed seeing them grow both professionally and personally.
Dex became more focused and he proved this in the opening chapters of the book.
Dex adapts and survives. He has a lot to live for.
There are many great things about the books in the series: they deal with serious social issues but also mix action, comedy and romance in a perfectly balanced way.
The characters feel like old friends, like members of a family you are always looking forward to seeing again.
Mark Westfield as always, narrates each character to perfection. He brings Dex, Sloane and the world to life.
