Excellent and very nuanced discussion of gun rights issues

I loved this - it really spelled out the origins of gun rights and the social stakes, interspersed with personal stories. Compelling and worth your time.

Terry Pratchett fans rejoice!

I was devastated when Terry Pratchett died. No more Discworld! What would I do?!? But here is a worthy successor. Epic adventures? Check. Witty banter? Check. A heaping dose of sarcasm? Triple check! Also appreciated how everything makes sense — the author’s complex grasp of politics, the economy and (pan)human nature made everything satisfyingly plausible. It’s adventure with smarts and a smirk. Bring your credits, folks! You won’t regret it.

No plot, no point

I’m 2 hours from the end and throwing in the towel. NOTHING HAPPENS in this book. Instead, we have page after page of tedious descriptions of internet installations, car purchases, visits to the doctor and lawyer… all the annoying daily tasks that I turn to reading to escape are here catalogued and minutely described. I stuck with it because it had a lot of positive reviews, so surely, it would eventually get better? NOPE.
