On March 8, 1421, the largest fleet the world had ever seen set sail from China. Its mission was to "proceed all the way to the ends of the earth to collect tribute from the barbarians beyond the seas" and unite the whole world in Confucian harmony. When it returned in October 1423, the emperor had fallen, leaving China in political and economic chaos. The great ships were left to rot at their moorings and the records of their journeys were destroyed. Lost in China's long isolation that followed was the knowledge that Chinese ships had reached America 70 years before Columbus.

I enjoy our generation rewriting history. Have this book a listen and you’ll no regret it. The chickens from China released in South America are a big inspiration. Just wait for the windward Antilles to upset you dearly.

A great listen

Liz gives a nice, first hand account of how she made her journey from California, Mexico, South America and to the South Pacific. She is a great narrator and you'll feel like your on board Swell as you learn her life's lessons. We listened to this book while sailing in the Society Islands and enjoyed it.

Madeleine Albright is very knowledgeable in her experiences. I disagree that Europe is going towards WW3 as she is suggesting in this book. Her delivery is dry and slow. Too bad she signed the NDA that would allow her to let us know the inside story. Such as, the military knew where Osama was living for two months before the lame massacre. Give us the info.
