Historia
A devout Puritan minister in 17th-century New England, Roger Williams was also a social critic, diplomat, theologian, and politician who fervently believed in tolerance. Banished from Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1635, Williams purchased land from the Narragansett Indians and laid the foundations for the colony of Rhode Island as a place where Indian and English cultures could flourish side by side, in peace. James A. Warren tells the remarkable and little-known story of the alliance between Roger Williams's Rhode Island and the Narragansett Indians, and how they joined forces to retain their autonomy and their distinctive ways of life against Puritan encroachment.

Fascinating History
Revisado: 11-08-24
Learn about the fascinating relationship between the New England Puritans and the local native peoples, and the relationship between staunch magisterial protestant pilgrims and non-conformist pilgrims, such as Roger Williams.
While many attempt to idealize the Puritan pilgrims, or they try to idealize the native peoples, history shows that both people groups had their virtues and vices, with incredibly upright people from both groups along with maliciously evil people as well. One sided over-generalized interpretations of history is for fools, zealots, and politicians.
Roger Williams, a peacemaker at heart, sought for many years to keep the peace between the immigrants and the native people. But both sides having committed injustices against each other the dye was cast for the conflict that that ensued.

For years now, over a Biblical generation (about 40 years), a certain view has been gaining attention in the world of Christianity, a view that has challenged Biblical illiteracy and has encouraged Christians toward finding clarity and consistency regarding the end times. A view that has power and potential to change the confusion within Christ's Church as well as change the world.

Michael did a really good job at introducing the position of full preterism in this short booklet. For those who are newer to the discussion, he sites many excellent sources in this book for further study.
Thank you Michael for all of your work, brother. I especially appreciated the fulfilled Lord's prayer at the end.

Touching.
Revisado: 10-29-24
A beautiful short story exemplifying God's goodness in using the weak and crippled to confound the proud and heady of this world. Gunther, whose life his own family thought was worse than useless, goes on to be loved by a saintly community of Christians in the valley of Bethel. This love transforms this numb, nearly dumb, and drugged cripple into a bright star of God's most precious constellation. Gunther works hard to please his loving patrons by diligently running tasks for them, and even singing songs of God's praise in the hardest of days for the community leader, pastor Franz, during his battle to save Bethels stars from the mass extermination of cripples and epileptics during the Nazi tyranny. The story is a triumph!

Historia
Have you ever wondered why we Christians do what we do for church every Sunday morning? Why do we "dress up" for church? Why does the pastor preach a sermon each week? Why do we have pews, steeples, choirs, and seminaries? This volume reveals the startling truth: most of what Christians do in present-day churches is not rooted in the New Testament, but in pagan culture and rituals developed long after the death of the apostles.

Widely regarded as the first English novel, Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe is one of the most popular and influential adventure stories of all time. The Robinson family, a Swiss pastor, his wife, and four sons, will emerge alive from this terrible storm, bringing to land two dogs and a shipload of livestock: hens, pigeons, and geese.

Fun read!
Revisado: 05-26-24
A fun adventure to read and enjoy. The consistent faith the father and mother exemplified for their children in the dangers and prosperity of New Switzerland is an encouragement to my faith. Being able to recognize God's gifts and trials amongst whatever path He has placed us on is one of lives most important lessons.
It's hilarious how every time the father and the boys encounter new animals they just gun it down then check it out. The story tended to be a bit repetitive. Discover a new site, some new animal and food, and then the settle it. But the discovery process is fun!

Historia
Chesterton's allegorical masterpiece is a surreal, psychologically thrilling novel that centres on seven anarchists in turn of the century London who call themselves by the names of days of the week. The story begins when poet Gabriel Syme is recruited as a detective to a secret anarchist division of Scotland Yard by a shrouded, nameless person. Syme infiltrates a secret meeting of anarchists who are intent on destroying the world and becomes known as 'Thursday', one of the seven members of the Central Anarchist Council.

Historia
Begun in the mid-16th century by Protestant nonconformists keen to reform England's church and society while saving their own souls, the puritan movement was a major catalyst in the great cultural changes that transformed the early modern world. Providing a uniquely broad transatlantic perspective, this groundbreaking volume traces puritanism's tumultuous history from its initial attempts to reshape the Church of England to its establishment of godly republics in both England and America, and its demise at the end of the 17th century.

Historia
Between 1485 and 1688, England became a Protestant country under Henry VIII. His daughter, Elizabeth I, battled for succession and supremacy at home, and the discovery of 'the round world' enabled a vast continent across the Atlantic to be explored. While this new era was spawning the beginnings of modern America, England was engaged in a bloody civil war and sustained a Republican experiment under the leadership of Oliver Cromwell.
