Historia
The Antidote is a series of journeys among people who share a single, surprising way of thinking about life. What they have in common is a hunch about human psychology: that it’s our constant effort to eliminate the negative that causes us to feel so anxious, insecure, and unhappy. And that there is an alternative "negative path" to happiness and success that involves embracing the things we spend our lives trying to avoid.

Worth your time
Revisado: 03-27-17
Thoughtful and kind-hearted look at life & happiness. Not preachy but rather the writer approaches the human condition with a sense of awe and mystery that appears to model the thinking the writer is advocating. Sounds like it would be fun to sit down and talk with the writer about some of his adventurous research interacting with various people and cultures.

Not very funny
Revisado: 01-01-15
What would have made The XFM Vault better?
I would have been better if they only chose very funny material. No curation is evident with so many boring parts. Most other Ricky Gervais content I've seen or listened to was much funnier than this.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I'm not sure yet, but it won't be Ricky Gervais content since whoever is making the decisions about what to sell for him is not protecting his brand name by making sure only his best (or at least better) materials are offered on the market.
What aspect of the narrators’s performance would you have changed?
Ricky Gervais is incredibly funny at times. It hurts his reputation to release and charge for material that is too often not humorous.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The XFM Vault?
About 90% of the material should have been cut. Normally Ricky Gervais joking while doing stand-up comedy or even acting in tv series (one dealing with a height-challenged actor) and sometimes in movies makes me laugh out loud and even causes my gut to hurt. Some actors I know I can spend money on their productions and will never be disappointed since they only attach their names to their BEST work. Unfortunately, Ricky's brand is not protected in such a way so I will very reluctant to pay for anything with his name on it in the future. This is kind of sad since I personally think Ricky's best work is some of the TOP 1% of humor on this planet at times. This audio presentation was in the lower quartile for the planet. Sad.
Any additional comments?
NO ONE is funny 100% of the time. I personally think you should remove the word BEST OF RICKY GERVAIS from the title. Perhaps it would be more accurate to call this "RICKY GERVAIS RAMBLINGS THAT AREN'T SO FUNNY for THOSE WHO JUST LOVE TO HEAR HIS VOICE"...seriously.
