Missing what makes Aliens books different

Never boring, but missing that element that makes the Aliens books different from Predator books, or any "monster" book. It still has Xenomorphs, face huggers, etc, in fact goes into greater detail about their appearance and explores the idea of them invading a planet rather than being stuck in a ship or single complex, but it's not the Aliens themselves that make the franchise unique. The end kind of felt rushed compared to the pace of the rest of the book, and should have had more focus on it, considering how much detail went into Act II.

Like old school radio shows, well acted, fun story, Foley was good age makes you feel like they were actually in a movie wearing costumes

I realized after I got this that is not the same author that the movies were based off of (Marlon Brando or Clark Gable) and unlike the weirdos who read the book THEN watch the movie, I watch movies to preview books I should read. This story follows the captain more, goes more into the history before and after. And the narrator does really well separating voices, and does a decent job with the Polynesian pronunciations. Well worth the read.

It felt like a rough draft for a SNL sketch where they were just messing around trying to find what was funny and what wasn't. It could potentially become funny if given a few more drafts, especially with the actors, I really wanted to like this. I'm glad I got this on a free week. Like another person wrote here, it was just "meh" until they took pain medication and got loopy, THEN it was funny. So... Get your Percocet ready...

I liked this one, nothing to do with the movie. I was not a huge fan of the 3rd movie, Alien 3 (written Alien Cubed) by David Fincher, and even though this is a sequel to Aliens (second movie) this has nothing to do with the 3rd movie.

I liked how it started, but then it got silly in the middle. It used the middle parts at the end, so they weren't just thrown in for the heck of it, but kind of contrived. I wanted to like it more but struggled to pay attention. The end was decent, but it felt like they were fixing plot holes that didn't need to be fixed, and it kind of just ended.

If you can can't quote every line, if you don't understand 500 year olde English, if you don't know all the cultural references and significance, you might benefit from this version. Even if you know A LOT about Shakespeare, this could give you a few insights you have forgotten. The voice acting is as good as any play I was forced to watch growing up, and the tour guide /teacher is playful enough to where it's less like school and more actual fun to listen to. In fact, I found myself zoning out during the dialog and only really listening when she came in to talk.

Very well done, highly recommended to those who get lost in Shakespeare plays!

A little Scooby-Doo-ish at the end, but pretty well thought out. Enough turns to keep it interesting but easy enough to follow.

My dad had me read "How to win friends and influence people" when I was a kid, this has most of the same life lessons, but a lot more entertaining

There are a bunch of parallel stories weaving through each other and I spent a lot of time reading the companion PDF to remember who is who. I listen to audio books because I usually can't "read", but if you are OK with that aspect, it was fun and well acted. I was expecting more of a darker Clive Barker style story, and this is more tongue in cheek. Definitely worth the effort if you are good with the nuances.
