I was not really impressed with the story line of this book. I found that it was very DRY. Yes, there is romance, love and drama, but it leaves nothing to the imagination and there was very little creative writing. I find that if you have read one love/ romance than this is one that is right there with the rest/ Nothing Special. I would not read again.

Better than Netflix

Loved this series! I wish that they would write more! I have watched the Netflix series and was left wanting more. I wanted to read the comics and did just that, but this book was more than I could have asked for. I found that it was well orchestrated and has every detail that you could need. I found more information about the keys and where they originally came from and was astonished to learn that the Netflix series is nothing like the books. Honestly are the movies ever really like the books. I would recommend if you have not read these or listened to them that you do that NOW! Enlighten yourself and find out that there is so much more than you could ever imagine. I will have to say without giving too much away that I was a little disappointed about the ending. I found that they beginning of the series focused more on the Keys and how they worked and what they did and then the book took a turn for something a little strange. I think the whole black door and such was a little over the top and wish they would have stayed more with the keys and how they worked. I liked that they had a little protagonist in the series that added some depth. Dodge was a great addition and the idea of an "ECOH" is great, but a different direction than aliens and a black door would have been a better way to continue the series. Magic is great and it is even more amazing to read about it, but Aliens not so much. Hopefully they will rebuilt Key house and the story can go on .

Harry potter Knock off

I finished this book just to see if it would go anywhere. I found that this was almost exactly like Harry Potter. I am a huge Harry Potter fan and thought if it is well written and narrated that this could be a good book. . . no! I was highly disappointing in this book. I found that it leapfrogged through certain areas and it left you wondering "how did that happen? when did that happen?". I am not sure the direction that the auteur was trying to go for, but I found that I was left with big holes in the story line. I found that the main characters cat and ash we too similar to Rom and Harry. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I have read just about every paranormal fey fantasy out there and have been on the hunt for the next best book. I stumbled across this book by complete accident and am pleasantly surprised. I normally do not like YA books because they do not contain the "good parts", but I think this book has more than made up for itself.

Kagawa has left me with wanting more and since the completion of this book i have already ordered the whole series. I thought the beginning was a little slow getting to know the characters and some of the backgrounds that surrounded each character was a little drawn out. I for one would have loved to know what happened to Meghan's father (the one lost as the lake). The author left this to the imagination of the reader, but did give some insight that he was a live and in faerie somewhere.

For me personally I always love a good paranormal romance and I can see Meghan torn between both of her suitors. Puck and Ash. I hope that this will continue into the rest of the books and maybe she will end up with one of them . . .summer or winter they both are a delight.

Overall this is a riveting book that left me wanting more. I love this genera and cannot wait to listen to the rest of her series. I will be sad to finish it, but will move on to the next and find something that will bide the time hoping Kagawa will write some more.
