Revisado: 02-19-24
Jessica Chastain’s performance is stellar. One of the most visual audio productions I’ve had the pleasure to listen to. A compelling story left on a cliff hanger. Waiting a patient as possible for what comes next!

Intriguing and disturbing, this original piece captivated me first and foremost by the performances. Ms Gugino’s soothing alto purr eases the hart-hitting writing I normally would avoid. First-rate production.

Wild Ride!
Revisado: 07-18-23
First let me say Isabella Maldonado is at the top of my favorite suspense thriller authors list. All of Maldonado's books are fascinating, and this one is a wild roller-coaster ride from minute one. Intrigue, super smart, a relevant plot, villains you love to hate, best of all a kick-ass female lead--this first book of a new series is one I will continue, without a doubt.

I became enthralled by the end of the first line of this quite brilliant story. An authentic NA voice, presented by abundantly talented Ramon Emerson, has captured my heart. This is an author I look forward to following. Also appreciate the narrator's fine work!

Captivating and Suspenseful
Revisado: 01-20-22
My two favorite elements for a suspense thriller novel are at the forefront of this novel. I'm a huge fan of Maegan Beaumont's other thrillers and quickly devoured this one. I decided on the audiobook version because I was intrigued by a two-narrator presentation. Beyond pleased and looking forward to Book 2.

Fascinating Premise
Revisado: 02-15-16
What did you love best about The Advocate's Geocache?
I didn't know much about geocaching and found that element to be a fascinating theme for the novel.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I've enjoyed reading about author Burrell's leading lady, Sabre Brown, since book one. She carries this novel as well, first and foremost with precision and integrity. An advocate for child's rights, Sabre moves through the world to find answers few are wiling to reveal--even if the answers are painful to take in.
Which character – as performed by John Bell – was your favorite?
Good 'ol boy leading man, J.P., is performed with the tinge of humor ideal for this character.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
"You might NOT want to find it." OR "Follow the Next Clue at Your Peril."
Any additional comments?
I listened to this audiobook for hours at a time. Highly entertaining and fascinating from the first minutes to the last, the theme and surrounding story lines were riveting. I highly recommend this listen.

Suspenseful Charmer
Revisado: 02-15-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I highly recommend this listen, particularly if you're a fan of romantic suspense.
What did you like best about this story?
Although this is certainly a romance novel, there is much intrigue to keep crime fiction fans satisfied as well.
What about Gwendolyn Druyor’s performance did you like?
I found the characters' voicing smooth and enticing. The performances were true to the ear and pleasing to follow.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
So many moments, yet I'm drawn to suspense--therefore I found the entire hurricane section to be edge of the seat suspenseful. I also loved that every element introduced in the novel was completely addressed to satisfaction.
Any additional comments?
I was drawn to the star-crossed lovers Vivien and Cody, however the woman who stands in the way of their ideal possible future, Uvi, is the "perfect" villain.
Author Lazar presents all of these characters with an intensity and truth of commitment rarely found in a traditional romance. This one is highly erotic, without going over the top. An ideal listen and perfect escape in every way.

On The Run Suspense
Revisado: 02-15-16
What did you love best about The Fall Guy?
This rocket-paced thriller kept me intrigued and on the edge of my seat throughout the entire listen.
What other book might you compare The Fall Guy to and why?
As with THE FALL GUY, Simon Wood's compelling novels are one-of-a-kind. Even the secondary characters are intriguing, and the plot is intricate, yet easy to follow due to the writer's prowess to keep the reader focused. Wood is among the best of my favorite male crime fiction authors, including Gregg Hurwitz and James Lee Burke.
What does Ed Hunter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator brings the author's word to life. There's something about a book being read to you that adds an additional level of intrigue and suspense. Hunter hit all of the crescendos and the ease of differing characters' voicing made the listen easy to follow.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Even if you run, there's no turning back.
Any additional comments?
I am a true fan of Simon Wood's books and have yet to be displeased. I encourage new readers/listeners to put this author on their must-read list.

Legal Series Worthy of Following
Revisado: 05-19-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Advocate's Conviction to be better than the print version?
The mediums are completely different. For me, I love to experience the print version, but as with most audiobooks the visuals come alive when presented in the spoken word.
What other book might you compare The Advocate's Conviction to and why?
John Grisham comes to mind, but the fascinating children's advocate element adds a level of interest sometimes lacking in many legal thrillers.
What does Laurel Schroeder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator was a bit lacking regarding the presentation of differing characters. However because the writing is seamless, the listen was smooth and pleasing to follow.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Ms. Burrell’s experience as a children’s legal advocate shines in this heart-wrenching and at times terrifying journey of compelling attorney seeking answers about missing kids assigned to her care.
Any additional comments?
Exceptional writing is at the core of this legal thriller. I knew very little about the court system relating to child advocacy. The legal elements and dialogue between the characters was quite fascinating. I’ve read several of this author’s books and as always, she provided incomparable information in an entertaining manner. If you love an intriguing, ongoing legal read the Advocate Series by Teresa Burrell is one I highly recommend.
