Historia
In this lecture we introduce the four foundational principles upon which our Logos Bible Study program is built. The Bible is: 1) rooted in geography; 2) it emerges from history; 3) it is—in its final, finished form—a unified literary work and 4) it is the Word of God.

Historia
While Pang-Mei Natasha Chang was a Chinese Studies major at Harvard University, she stumbled across the name of her 83-year-old great aunt Chang Yu-i in a history book. Over the next several years, Pang-Mei spent long afternoons drawing forth her aunt's story. Born in Shanghai to a well-to-do family, Chang Yu-i lived a life of defiance, continually breaking class and culture barriers.

Very Enjoyable! -- Worth the Price!

I loved this short book. It is so interesting to hear the transition of China into modernity. A personal recounting as to how it affected several families gives the hearer more insight into the culture of the East as opposed to the West -- that can be very difficult to understand. The author is the narrator in this case and she does a fine job with difficult Chinese pronunciations. I will listen to this again and again.

Historia
Sinners in the Hands of Angry God is considered the most famous sermon ever preached in American history. Jonathan Edwards delivered this message on July 8, 1741, in Enfield, Connecticut. Many who heard it trembled and cried out for mercy. Others fainted. Five hundred people were converted that day.

Sinners
Revisado: 11-24-11
I can imagine that the sermon was given with a little more fire in it than this narrator provided.Nevertheless, it was good. This message had the intent of scaring it's hearers into heaven and out of hell. As such the sermon required more emphasis on God's wrath. As it is God's mission to redeem mankind and not send sinful humans into eternal punishment my preference would have been to focus on God's grace through Christ. But I believe he was setting up his hearers for the punch line -- which is God's grace is sufficient to save the most evil heart when repentent.
