Historia
The Royal Bank of Ankh-Morpork is facing a crisis, and who better to manage it than the man who turned around Ankh-Morpork’s inefficient Post Office, former arch-swindler-turned-Postmaster General Moist von Lipwig. Lord Vetinari once again makes Moist an offer he can’t refuse: resuscitate the venerable Royal Mint. The bank has many problems: the chief cashier is almost certainly a vampire, the elderly chairman and her two loaded crossbows needs a daily walkie, there’s something strange happening in the cellar, and running the Royal Mint is costing a mint.

Great listen
Revisado: 07-13-24
The reader was great, and the footnote portions were enjoyable too. One of Pratchett’s best stories

Historia
The New English Standard Version translation is founded on the belief that the words of the Bible are the very words of God. Setting itself apart from other translations by sacrificing neither accuracy nor readability, the ESV is an "essentially literal" translation that seeks to duplicate the original texts while taking into account the differences between modern English and the original languages.

Not segmented by chapters or books; only the NT
Revisado: 01-17-21
It is only the New Testament and doesn’t even allow me to find specific books or chapters— it is in “Chapter 2” and is essentially Matthew 5 and on, which makes no sense unless your purpose in ordering this version is to merely listen and not have a reference of where you heard what was spoken. Biblically, it is good to know where things are written and to meditate on those things so this is definitely not an audio version you’ll want if you desire to study or refer back to passages.

Historia
The town of Ankh-Morpork is in big trouble, and the City Watch is desperate for a few good men to protect it. But all they've got are the dwarves Corporal Carrot and Lance-constable Cuddy; the troll Lance-constable Detritus; Lance-constable Angua, who is believed to be a woman; and, worst of all, Corporal Nobbs, who has been disqualified from the human race for shoving!

Changing quality throws off a good story
Revisado: 01-20-19
It’s part of the Guards series and a great story and performance. My only complaint is that the sound quality of the narrator is muffled at times (briefly but frequently) which throws it all off. It forced me to change the volume and stop doing anything to concentrate so I could at least make out what was being said— which is a frustrating experience. All in all it is worth a listen but I wish it was fluid in quality rather than good then great then terrible, good, poor, great, good, etc. every few minutes.

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

A surprise treat to the ears
Revisado: 01-10-19
I love Gaiman’s books and have read American Gods, Anansi Boys, the co-written Good Omens (with the wonderful Terry Pratchett) and Neverwhere. I used an Audible credit without looking at details and was a bit weary to hear the voice of Gaiman himself at first. I’ve heard other books read by the authors themselves and have had bad experiences.
I am supremely glad to say that Gaiman brought everything to life in his wonderful, all-in efforts to portray his telling of Norse Mythology. I could hardly stop listening to the stories written in the book as Gaiman masterfully portrays various mythical (and some human) characters.
This is a real delight. If you have credits that need using, this is a great one (as is American Gods, which does not have him but still is told wonderfully by the reader). This audiobook will not disappoint you.

Stephen R. Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been a top seller for the simple reason that it ignores trends and pop psychology for proven principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new foreword and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant and answer some of the most common questions he has received over the past 15 years.

Wet mouth feedback and slurs ruin the experience
Revisado: 09-15-18
True, the author of the book narrates the book, but when I hear speech that sounds like someone salivating and slurring (maybe just one read through without retakes in these sections), it’s harder to focus than simply reading. It’s not constant but definitely distracts from the content when It does (more so the salivating).

Great narration and interview with Gaiman at the end
Revisado: 08-01-18
I read this book back when it first came out and figured I’d give it another read, but never came around to do so. Getting the audio of it was a great choice and the narrator does a great job of the whole cast. The interview with Gaiman at the end is a wonderful treat and explains what was going on in his head as he came up with characters and the story.
