Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

PLEASE STOP WITH OVERWROUGHT SARCASTIC HEROINES
Revisado: 03-22-25
I am begging YA fantasy authors to give the heroines any other personality attributes besides sarcastic and angry - even in ridiculous situations. This book has good world building but the voice of the heroine became like nails on a chalkboard as she reacted in hissing sarcasm to every single situation.

Historia
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust. Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Still listening
Revisado: 03-11-25
I’m still in the middle of this but this Narrator is like nails on a chalkboard. She’s so over the top hysterical all the time that it’s hard to delineate changes in mood. I don’t know if it’s the direction or the narrator but this is a rough listen.

Historia
Bilbury Grange is the second in Vernon Coleman's series of Young Country Doctor books. The place is the English county of Devon. The time is the 1970s. A young doctor, just married and in a new home (a vast and rambling country house in desperate need of repairs and renovation), has taken over a small village practice when suddenly the authorities decide that the village isn't big enough to have its own doctor. The villagers decide otherwise. Bilbury is the village everyone dreams of living in. It's the village where people speak to strangers and where doors are left unlocked.

Terrible Anti-Science garbage
Revisado: 09-16-23
I was listening to this mildly enjoyable story of a country doctor when I began to notice it was absolutely peppered with anti-science, conspiracy theory garbage. It’s also a total ripoff of the Irish Country doctor series but without the actual humor and humanity.

Great except a bad recording
Revisado: 08-04-22
I love the books and the narrator but this recording has some kind of background interference meaning you can hear static and someone dimly talking beyond the recording. It’s not my Audible App because it doesn’t do it with any of them.

Lauren Weedman is not okay. She's living what should be the good life in sunny Los Angeles. After a gig as a correspondent with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, she scored parts in blockbuster movies, which led to memorable recurring roles on HBO's Hung and Looking. She had a loving husband and an adorable baby boy. In these comedic essays, she turns a piercingly observant, darkly funny lens on the ways her life is actually not okay.

Moving, funny, fascinating
Revisado: 12-03-20
This is one of the best comedic collection of personal stories I’ve listened to. Heartfelt ad filled with interesting characters and tales from a performer, but mostly a human being’s life. Her observations on the humanity she’s encountered and experienced in her life is a perfect balance of witty and loving. Highly recommended
