I loved the narrator and the story, especially the Mother’s point of view, it’s genuine.

Historia
Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was.

So boring!
Revisado: 06-28-21
Nothing exciting happens in this story, the revaluation is only… meh and there is absolutely no quality to the Bailey character that makes you care about her at all, you wish she got picked up by the mob and same goes for the main character, you want her to slap that brat or at least tell her off and put her in her place like any adult would whether they grew up without a Mother or had six of them!

I absolutely loved everything about this book
Revisado: 04-14-20
I’m not a review writer so I’ll keep this short. Listen to this book, you will enjoy everything about it except that it’s too short.

Deeply depressing with an abrupt disappointing ending!
Revisado: 06-18-19
This story goes nowhere! The book is well written and performed but the story is pointless and the ending made me angry that I bothered to listen at all.

What would have made Catch-22 better?
The most depressing stories! I had to stop listening after the fourth story, I wanted to walk in front of a bus!

Historia
Jill McCorkle's new collection of 12 short stories is peopled with characters brilliantly like us - flawed, clueless, endearing. These stories are also "animaled" with all manner of mammal, bird, fish, reptile - also flawed and endearing. She asks, what don't humans share with the so-called lesser species? Looking for the answer, she takes us back to her fictional home town of Fulton, North Carolina, to meet a broad range of characters facing up to the double-edged sword life offers hominids.

Revisado: 07-30-15
What the hell! Does the publisher own shares in Prozac? I got through five stories and while they were well written and performed I simply couldn't take anymore gloom and despair. I want my money back. Can I return this?
