Was pretty tame in comparison to other stories by Carl East I’ve read. Writing is good as always.

A wonderful story of mages, dragons, life, and learning. A great reading, true to the word of Le Guin’s books. Often called “children’s” stories, there is deep wisdom for anyone that is willing to listen.

A fine example of warped non-rational trolling

Only a truly ignorant person or one filled with hatred of rational thought could possibly swallow this trolling for money. If you stop at any point and think about the ideas and motivations of the type person that could write this you will realize that these people use prejudice, fear of intellectuals, fear of free thinking to line their pockets with the support of people the dupe. A fine example of the garbage that has been coming from the Whitehouse for four miserable years.
There is not a trace of empathy or even an attempt to understand in this “book”. It is so reminiscent of the rabid blathering of Rush Limbaugh it makes one truly wonder as to what kind of person could hate so many others and how, other than stabbing others in the back, they could have managed to feed themselves and possibly reproduces.
If you want a listen of the strategy of the genocidally insane that work against every attempt to bring “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” to the human race and attempt to save this oasis in space from thoughtless destruction, only then is this the book for you.

Titillating as a virgin innocent fucking a dog might be the length of this, which I’m certain is sold for full price, is ridiculous. There is a ride to the creature’s home, sex, and that’s all. The narrative is good but everything else is a ripoff.

I enjoyed what little there was of a story. I’m just baffled as to why the author didn’t expand on the story.

As a kind of adaptation of “A Thousand Nights and One Night” translated by Richard Burton, the explorer not the actor, of ancient stories he came across in the Middle East, the uncensored original is in many parts every bit as erotic as this work but masterfully weaves together many more stories without making Scheherazade into a manipulator of overt sex but a brilliant woman that through her stories and parables alone transform a serial killer of innocent women into a loving person.
Her stories are often erotic, some more so than any in this work. I would recommend reading the original after this as it is full of knowledge spanning many lifetimes and offers many memorable characters, many of which you have probably heard or seen in many movie adaptations of their exploits.

This was a rehash of the same stories published more than once by this same group. Don’t waste your time or money.

It's great to read erotica from a woman's point of view. The stories are well written and imaginative and read by someone that has respect for the genre.
Unlike some collections that seem to be the same story repeated with a minimum of editing, these are all unique and come from so many other genre that each is a delight to listen to. No skipping stories needed. Don't be fooled by other collections that are like 50 variations on a plot and are read by a collection of people that sound as if they would rather be doing anything else, these are in an entirely different and superior class.

You would think that the reader would at least know how to pronounce the main character's name, a point of which is brought out at least a half dozen times in 'Altered Carbon'. Also, the echo effect that is used for character's thoughts sounds like it was recorded in someone's shower stall.
I enjoyed the depth of the characters and the exposure of relationships that were touched at but never revealed in the first two books of the series.

Pohl, I believe, is spot on when it comes to the possibilities of life in our universe and the evolution of mankind. Well written but slow at some points. Narrator is good but makes many in corrected voice mistakes sometimes making the dialog confusing i.e. Male/female. It is still a pleasing listen.
