Historia
A tragic accident leaves the tight-knit book club in the small seaside town of Fairweather reeling. Then stranger Tom McLysaght arrives in the community, and the members of the club find their lives changing in ways they never could have imagined. None of them realise that Tom is hiding a secret. On the surface, his move to Fairweather was to escape his highflying life in London and to put some much-needed distance between him and his ex-fiancée - but deep down Tom knows that there are some things he cannot run from.

Historia
A powerful, moving memoir - and a practical guide to healing - written by Dr. Edith Eva Eger, an eminent psychologist whose own experiences as a Holocaust survivor help her treat patients and allow them to escape the prisons of their own minds. The Choice weaves Eger's personal story with case studies from her work as a psychologist. Her patients and their stories illustrate different phases of healing and show how people can choose to escape the prisons they construct in their minds and find freedom, regardless of circumstance.

Amazing
Revisado: 01-17-22
I kept looking at The Choice, the new book for book club. With covid and everything going on in the US, I wondered if I wanted to read a book about the horrific things that happened to Eger during the Holocaust. I kept looking at it, and decided to get The Audible version. What a mind opener! Lest I forget the narrator was excellent. The amazing thing is that Dr. Eger, without taking anything away, or downplaying the Holocaust, showed me, a life that faced .the horrific, head on and dealt with things. There was no magic wand, everything wasn't all of a sudden perfect, because she dealt with one part of her life, didn't mean everything else fell into place. She is such a brave, honest, kind woman. Not dismissing any flaws . I am so thankful to have read this book.
