I found this book to be so honestly written. There are happy ending moments but not forced to placate the reader. This was an incredible story that was so honestly told by an amazing writer! Mal Wrenn Corbin's writing is absolutely beautiful! This shocking, true-life, gritty tale is told with such great detail and flow...it's almost poetic!
This women rose above and worked very hard to get where she is today despite the giant boulders and all the trama thrown at her. Her story needed to be told!
Heartwarming isn't the right word...Inspiring, sad but hopeful is a better way to describe this journey she takes us on.

Did not disappoint

I never knew who Kelly Bishop was. My childhood obsession with Dirty Dancing lead to a love of dance. Then in my thirties I found a show I had dismissed as a young girl as cheesy. Gilmore Girls is an obsession and a cozy guilty pleasure that I've watched over and over again and would not be possible without Emily Gilmore. So, I had to learn more about this mysterous women who was in my favorite childhood movie and starred in my favorite series ever!
Kelly Bishop is not Emily Gilmore she is so much more! She is a breath of fresh air! Unapologetically herself! A spitfire (somewhat reminiscent of Emily), honest to a fault and genuinely just a grateful person with not an ounce of pretense about her. I also, love that she found dancing, loved it and made it happen! This book was a true pleasure. I'm so glad to have gotten to know Kelly Bishop!

what an amazing book! what an amazing story of Jon's journey! It all resonates and I am so happy to have incorporated this into my life. I already feel my stress and fat melting away! My only critique would be using the word fat to describe one's self or someone else. This book is old so perhaps he has changed his phrasing as of late but it's a pejorative and I don't Luke to say it or hear it.
