Historia
Galveston, Texas, may be the booming city of the brand-new twentieth century, filled with opportunities for all, but to Seth it is the end of a dream. He longs to be a carpenter like his father, yet Papa has moved the family to Galveston so that Seth can become a doctor. Still, the last few weeks of summer might not be so bad. Things seem to be looking up - until a storm warning is raised one sweltering afternoon.

It was alright, but kind of boring
Revisado: 03-03-23
I had to read this book for my English class, so I got the audiobook to listen to and help me focus. We read like 10 chapters a week, which is probably why it felt so long winded. But I just think the pacing isn’t great and some of the chapters really just feel like filler. But if you like long detailed historical fiction, you’d probably enjoy it more. The narration, however, was excellent and made the book better in my opinion. Not to spoil anything, but I also quite enjoy the romance elements, though very few.
