Not the usual celebrity story.
Revisado: 06-05-17
I really liked this tale of a female escort who gets entangled with a celebrity.
Most of the story kept my attention but I must admit to rolling my eyes when the 'back and forth' could have been cleared by communicating.
The overall score is 4 stars, due to the amazingly well described characters.
I do feel like there were loose ends in the story that, if told, could have made this into a 4,5-5 star read.
If you like angsty stories about gorgeous celebrities and the girls they save... then this one is for you!

I had to DNF because of the narrator
Revisado: 04-30-17
Would you try another book from the authors and/or Justine Eyre?
I am currently buying any and all audiobook with Shelly Laurenston/ GA Aiken but this one will be returned. (Se the reason below)
What did you like best about this story?
#4 'Dragon on Top' by GA Aiken:
I love the fierceness of Glenna the Decimator and her interactions with Bram the Merciful. Their story is just as humorous and snarky as the rest of the Dragonkin tales are.
If you don't like bloody swordfights and overly narcissistic characters (because dragons!), then you won't enjoy this one.
Would you be willing to try another one of Justine Eyre’s performances?
No.
While I know that some names can be hard to pronounce, I just can't fathom why Gleanna becomes Iolanna in this narrator's case.
If such a mistake is her norm, I am unwilling to flesh out my hard earned $$.
Could you see Supernatural being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yeah, it probably could but I prefer reading. That way I get to picture the characters just as I like.
Any additional comments?
I bought this anthology solely for GA Aikens story 'Dragon on Top'.
I already own it as ebook and paperback and have recently discovered audiobooks.
What would prompt me to DNF a book I love this much?
When the narrator calls the heroine by the wrong name.
Her name is Gleanna. NOT iolanna!
I thought I heard it wrong at first but I was no more than 1 minute and 9 seconds into the book when I realized that it wasn't my hearing, but the narrator's pronouncement.
I am returning this pronto and will remember to listen to samples in the future.

Chance Abbot is cocky. Sexy. Gorgeous. A player in every sense of the word. He broke my heart once, and I swore he'd never get a second chance. But when he smiles at me, flashing those irresistible dimples or looks at me like I'm the best thing he's ever seen, I forget I shouldn't fall for his charms again.

Great story
Revisado: 04-20-17
I liked this story, but I'm not too fond of the dual narration.
I spend a lot of time getting used to narrators and their voice modulation, so the constant shifts made it hard to 'feel' the story.
The female narrator had a pleasant voice and she used it well. (No monotonous voices here!)
The male narrator had a 'growly' voice that made me annoyed for the first half of the book, but then I either got used to it, or he had a good coughing before continuing.
In the end, I'm left with happy feelings so I'd say it's a good one!

Historia
Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

5 stars!!

What made the experience of listening to The Wall of Winnipeg and Me the most enjoyable?
Wow!
I have read this book so many times now and I still love every single thing on these pages!
I have recently discovered audiobooks and at first, I winced at Callie's slightly too high voice, but man, did she do a bang up job! The way she manages to alter her voice so every single character comes to life is beyond amazing. I am now the proud owner of every single MZ book on kindle, paperback, AND audiobooks. They are that good!
I'm blown away by this story. It was long with a storyline that developed very slowly. And I never once felt the need to put down the book! I was spellbound by the magnificent words I found on these pages.
I loved the aloofness that was 'The Wall of Winnipeg', and the internal struggles of Vanessa was both funny and so realistic.
Amazingly written!
What about Callie Dalton’s performance did you like?
Callie is incredible at altering her voice to make the different characters come to life.
After a while, I even forgot that it wasn't a cast of narrators doing the audio.

Historia
After moving to Austin following six months of unemployment back home, Iris Taylor knows she should be glad to have landed a job so quickly... even if the business is owned by a member of the same motorcycle club her estranged father used to belong to. Except Dex Locke might just be the biggest jerk she's ever met. He's rude and impatient, and he doesn't know how to tell time. And the last thing they ever expected was each other.

Where does Under Locke rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Sidenote: I need to find me a Dex. If anyone spots one can you please pm me?
Anyhoooo... As usual Miss/ Mrs Zapata writes an amazing story. The hero Dex was an intriguing mix of obnoxious and charming and I still need you to pm if you find him!
The heroine Iris has had a rough life. She's a bit shy (in my opinion) but still manages to bring a bit of sass to the table (or tattoo shop and in this case).
I liked them both individually but it loved them together.
