this is the second book in the series and it moves the story forward and can be read as a standalone. the narration was spot on and the voices were different for each character. i enjoyed the authir's take on how the gods for each civilization came to be.

Multiple timelines were interesting to read about and he did a good job of separating those out. at one point it did go Bill and Ted's in relation to a bomb. I liked the ending and how it was all wrapped and how everything fit together well.

I enjoyed the twist on the normal gamelit story with the beasts being the focus on powering up. other books have the main character do all the leveling.this twist makes the story more interesting and I couldn't wait to see how the story went. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

I liked where the story headed at the end of book 3 and was surprised when most of this book rehashed the other 3 books through time travel before moving forward. hopefully the next book moves the story forward at the same pace as the first 3 books.
