Historia
Retired from his fighting days, John Perry is now village ombudsman for a human colony on distant Huckleberry. With his wife, former Special Forces warrior Jane Sagan, he farms several acres, adjudicates local disputes, and enjoys watching his adopted daughter grow up. That is, until his and Jane's past reaches out to bring them back into the game — as leaders of a new human colony, to be peopled by settlers from all the major human worlds, for a deep political purpose that will put Perry and Sagan back in the thick of interstellar politics, betrayal, and war.

Very graphic and violent.

Taste and style. I enjoy sci-fi but not horror so much. While the plot is plausible, I enjoy understanding how decompression affects the body more than the ripping done by a robot. Just me...

Best Sci-Fi story and well produced
Revisado: 05-02-17
I accidentally read book 2 first and found it exceptionally good. When I discovered it was a sequel I was especially amazed as sequels usually contain filler to up the page count. The story line, POV, and originality makes this an extremely engaging read hard to put down. These are rare books that deserve to be re-read. We

Historia
Bob Johansson didn't believe in an afterlife, so waking up after being killed in a car accident was a shock. To add to the surprise, he is now a sentient computer and the controlling intelligence for a Von Neumann probe. Bob and his copies have been spreading out from Earth for 40 years now, looking for habitable planets. But that's the only part of the plan that's still in one piece.

New twist on Sci-Fi.
Revisado: 04-30-17
The story keeps you interested by not repeating the past story line or getting bogged down in irrelevant detail. It's novel on the clones getting along so well while expressing unique personalities and keeping the humanity in their personas. Just an enjoyable read.

Historia
Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

Better than most sequels
Revisado: 04-28-17
The narrator's presentation is excellent. The author is resorting to prolonging less interesting story lines to fill the book, but it's still an interesting and enjoyable read. The early repartee between Joe and the AI was funny and fresh but is now becoming repetitive. It needs to evolve to a new level but keep the humor.

Historia
Darien is no longer a lost outpost of humanity, but the prize in an intergalactic power struggle. Hegemony forces have a stranglehold over the planet and crack troops patrol its hotspots while Earth watches, passive, rendered impotent by galactic politics. But its Darien ambassador will soon become a player in a greater conflict. There is more at stake than a turf war on a newly-discovered world. An ancient Uvovo temple hides access to a hyperspace prison, housing the greatest threat sentient life has ever known.

Sequels are usually less and this one doesn't disappoint.
Revisado: 04-21-17
The first book was written for a 14 to 16 year old. The second book seems to be written for a 6 to 8 year old. Characters magically are saved from death or annihilation. And then there is the excessive rehash of the first book storyline. Pure filler. The story is interesting enough to review book 3 and I hope it is better.

Repeated content wears thin after a while.
Revisado: 09-28-16
Presumably, the author needed to up the word count and did that by repeating passages seemingly dozens of times. That said, the story was interesting, even though you need to fast forward through the tedious repetitions.
