Historia
Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is a drifter. He’s just passing through Margrave, Georgia, and in less than an hour, he’s arrested for murder. Not much of a welcome. All Reacher knows is that he didn’t kill anybody. At least not here. Not lately. But he doesn’t stand a chance of convincing anyone. Not in Margrave, Georgia. Not a chance in hell.

Historia
Living off the land and adapting to a changing environment takes a special individual with the unique skills, training, and determination necessary to survive. Gus Berry is not that individual. The former house painter barely made it out of Annapolis as its population underwent a violent transformation, leaving everyone he knew or loved dead—or undead. Now, Gus needs food and booze, weapons and armor, clothing that fits, and above all, toilet paper, preferably two-ply.

Revisado: 02-18-22
the second sequel was exactly what I was hoping for. I feel gus in his early days vs how he ended up is a good contrast on what a guy can become. also that full circle ending. saw it coming a mile away, but I suppose that's the best part

slow start
Revisado: 06-07-21
I was expecting something else. I'm not sure of what but there was a point when I debated on stopping the book and trying something else. I'm glad I didn't. I'm not all action and do like how thorough these books can be. I also like a drink of water when I am thirsty. the second half of this book was like watching tape 2 of the titanic. its good, a little padded, but worthwhile.

In the beginning, there was The Average American Male. Maxim called it "pure filth". Even Penthouse called it "appalling". The New York Times called it "the literary love child of Neil LaBute, Judy Blume, and Eminem". Now, Chad Kultgen's unforgettable antihero is back - this time as a married man.

Historia
An offensive, in-your-face, brutally honest and completely hilarious look at male inner life and sexual fantasy. In the course of this hilariously honest book, our narrator suffers through a relationship with his vapid wannabe-actress girlfriend until he finds the perfect girl. But when he moves into the new relationship, he slowly learns that all women are pretty much the same, that man's true desires will never be fulfilled, and the decision between living life alone or biting the marriage bullet must be made.

I read the book years ago and seeing that it was read by the author, well it was a no brainer. he reads it how he wrote it, I wish more authors did this.

Historia
If we were as tiny as ants to another being, what would they make of our philosophies? The great satirist Voltaire imagines alien visitors who have opinions. Bedtime stories are narrated by the world's most celebrated voices and written with no beginning, middle, or end so you don't stay up to hear what happens next. They're interesting enough to give your mind something to focus on, but delivered in a way that encourages sleep.

Historia
Thomas McNulty, having fled the Great Famine in Ireland and now barely 17 years old, signs up for the US Army in the 1850s and with his brother in arms, John Cole, goes to fight in the Indian Wars - against the Sioux and the Yurok - and, ultimately, in the Civil War. Orphans of terrible hardships themselves, they find these days to be vivid and alive, despite the horrors they see and are complicit in. Moving from the plains of Wyoming to Tennessee, Sebastian Barry's latest work is a masterpiece of atmosphere and language.

wait what?
Revisado: 09-06-19
being a lakota from the area in the book and knowing pretty much every ballpark location was what brought me into the story. I enjoyed the first third until it turned from a historic fiction to a love story. then ramps back into action with what i was hoping a defined ending, not the end of type writer ribbon. I don't want to say I felt cheated but it was literally the narrator's voice, in my ear, saying "the end" before I had a second to process that it was done.
