Historia
The Magus: Kundalini and the Golden Dawn is the culmination of my spiritual journey through the Western Mystery Tradition after experiencing a full and sustained Kundalini awakening. Once I joined a secret and esoteric school called the Golden Dawn, I was introduced to Ceremonial Magick—a Spiritual Alchemy practice geared towards Chakra tuning and cleansing—whose ultimate purpose is personal transformation and Enlightenment.

Banal simple not right for audibles
Revisado: 08-19-24
Most of this is incredibly simple. A lengthy lengthy walk thru of basic Kabbalah, a lengthy walk thru of the major arcana-just on overview but lengthy with no insights methods or depth in those hours of reiterating basics found with much more art and depth elsewhere. This might be an ok reference material for some, but not on audibles,
The author seems quite arrogant in the first intro my-wonderful-me-story chapters, but the narrator’s voice smooths that out. I don’t know who the audience is for this because it is so basic and needs to be read rather than listened to. For me, not even a nugget of wisdom to be found. A waste of a credit for me, but not offensive, except the general male dominance of these teachings, and the demeaning references to women and females in general.
I found it not worthwhile to even finish and will soon delete it from my library and never look back.

Historia
Shelley Stone, wife, mother, and CEO of the tech company Conch, is committed to living her most efficient life. She takes her "me time" at 3:30 a.m. on the treadmill, power naps while waiting in line, and schedules sex with her husband for when they are already changing clothes. But when she meets a young woman also named Shelley Stone who has the same exact scar on her shoulder, Shelley has to wonder: Is she finally buckling under all the pressure? Completely original, brainy, and laugh-out-loud funny, The Glitch offers a riotous look into work, marriage, and motherhood in our absurd world.

Cute premise but too slow and repetitive for me.

Absurdity, and not in a good way
Revisado: 03-22-24
This was a bland, unlikeable and unlikely main character. Banal language, absurd hodgepodged story that wasn’t interesting or appealing. Narrator was often whiney, could not tell if that fit the narrative or not. You get hammered and hammered and hammered about the main character’s traits, but she is not a realistic or an interesting character, so you don’t care.

Historia

This is perhaps my best audible purchase. The narrator is fantastic and alters his voice for the different characters in dialogue. I particularly like the considerable amount of detail that Eco uses. Not having been to many churches and not being a native speaker of French, I did have to relisten quite a bit at first, and then look up some terms.
I am not a big fan of murder mysteries, but I wanted a long, interesting, and well narrated audio book that I could enjoy and practice my French. I am truely grateful this was made into audio the way that it was.

Good narrator
Revisado: 11-17-20
I like the voice and slow cadance of the narrator. I though overall this was a simple, but very very very...repetitive intro to his brand of 'enlightenment'. Towards the end, I was worried that someone new to spiritual growth would be discouraged from seeking to be one with all, because of a surprising amount of fear-based cautions from the author. But at the end he does say it is a worthwhile adventure.
I was ending my Audibles subscription and needed to spend a few credits asap. I usually don't get such short titles. I get a vareity of things, mostly spirutual or art, and look for fun/entertaining, insights, fact-type knowledge, esoteric knowledge, beauty, steps/practice/techiques. I found very little of any of that in this reading, so I would not buy this knowing what I know now. The author states he doesn't want to be abstract, but whoa, this is mainly abstracted abstraction. There are some abstract examples of getting stuck, lost, confused, but little specific advice or practice except to 'focus'. He does explain that he avoids specifics because everyone's situation is unique.
Personally I often like abstract and even super vague texts, because there is work to do in understanding and applying the abstraction. This reading is not that type of interesting abstraction, it is more of the repetitive simple abstraction of not saying much. And sometimes not saying much, e.g. saying the same few important truths over and over is a very good way to teach a core concept.
This was a pleasant, short listen, but it's not one I will keep in my library. I think there are better choices for your time and money.
