Historia
Tara never imagined her introduction to Ireland like this - carrying her mam's ashes to honor her final request: "Tell Johnny I'm sorry.... Take me home." She's never met her mam's estranged brother, Johnny Meehan, who owns an architectural salvage business in Galway. Although Tara is immediately charmed by the medieval city, the locals seem wary of strangers, and a gypsy warns her that death is all around. When Tara arrives at her uncle's stone cottage, the prophesy seems true. A dead man lies sprawled over the threshold in a pool of blood.

An ouch! to my ears :(
Revisado: 12-14-20
Every year I look forward to finding a new Christmas mystery or two to enjoy over the holidays. Unfortunately, this audible read was not one. After slogging thru almost 2 hours of painful narration, hoping that surely at some point the narrator might warm to her characters, improve her intonation, punctuation and voices, and/or perhaps do a 'practice read' of the chapter before indelibly committing it to sound, I had to give up.
Ms. Worthy does NOT give a 'worthy' performance to this story, and although the premise of the tale intrigues me, I have to turn to other options for my audible Christmas reading, and perhaps see if I can find Kelli Landon's book in Kindle or paperback to find out how it all works out for Kat and Nikki !

on the whole for a light to read and if you don't want to think too much, this book was OK. however I did find it add it annoying when some of what I would have thought was common knowledge was overlooked throughout.

stiff, unbelievable, and a bit patronizing
Revisado: 12-28-11
Would you try another book from W. Bruce Cameron and/or George K. Wilson?
I'm a bit reluctant - perhaps in a pinch or if I wasn't purchasing it.
The narrator's voice was pleasant though, so may try another book read by George K. Wilson.
Would you ever listen to anything by W. Bruce Cameron again?
Uncertain.
How could the performance have been better?
A different book?
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A Dog's Purpose?
The first person narrative came across as a bit flat and too 'explanatory' rather than developing the characters. It just didn't hold my interest or make me want to know more about any of the dogs or people that the story was about.
