Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

An interesting story.
Revisado: 05-09-21
Set in a distant future that seems both logical and ideal future of Earth, this story is at its base an 80's nostalgia trip. Following the tale of Wade Watts and supposedly being told because "No other version of the story was ever told properly." If you've seen the movie before reading the book, you might almost feel like you're being told an entirely different story while listening to it. From a nice references regarding various video games, TV shows, music, movies and more, to being shown a slice of a potential future for VR, this story is really good. I encourage folks to give it a chance, even if some of the story may come across as a pining for the "good old days." and if you rather like the book, I highly encourage the sequel, Ready Player Two.

Historia
Days after winning OASIS founder James Halliday’s contest, Wade Watts makes a discovery that changes everything. Hidden within Halliday’s vaults, waiting for his heir to find it, lies a technological advancement that will once again change the world and make the OASIS a thousand times more wondrous - and addictive - than even Wade dreamed possible. With it comes a new riddle, and a new quest - a last Easter egg from Halliday, hinting at a mysterious prize. And an unexpected, impossibly powerful, and dangerous new rival awaits, one who’ll kill millions to get what he wants.

A strange but entertaining sequel.
Revisado: 12-07-20
So, Ready Player 2. After the rather simple ending of the first one, it was nice to have a sequel to either wrap things up or introduce a new plot. Throughout the book I was drawn back to memories of the first book. I was also impressed with the new tech this book introduced. Granted that impressed feeling only went so far before I remembered how behind we are in the real world.
Anyways, moving on. I loved the new riddles and the overall story, as well as the few bits of closure dropped throughout the book. All in all, this is another fantastic book by the author, one I happily look forward to listening to again and again in the future.

Historia
In the 10 years since his classic Kitchen Confidential first alerted us to the idiosyncrasies and lurking perils of eating out, much has changed for the subculture of chefs and cooks, for the restaurant business and for Anthony Bourdain. Medium Raw explores those changes, tracking Bourdain's strange and unexpected voyage from journeyman cook to globe-traveling professional eater and drinker, and even to fatherhood. Bourdain takes no prisoners as he dissects what he's seen.

A bloody and brilliant look into the man
Revisado: 08-06-19
Chef, writer, traveler and well loved, this second book from Anthony Bourdain was another look into his life and all his struggles, successes and the trials he undertook. His legend lives on through this book and I wish he could see how many people he has touched.
Witty, sharp and full of self loathing in mostly safe levels, this is a wonderful addition to my collection. Would most certainly tell others to go give it a listen/read.

Here, together for the first time, are the shorter works of best-selling author Jim Butcher - a compendium of cases that Harry and his cadre of allies managed to close in record time. The tales range from the deadly serious to the absurdly hilarious.

Fantastic companion to Dresden Files
Revisado: 08-18-18
With all the side stories, explanations and getting to see/ hear things from the other characters in the books makes Side Jobs a fantastic read/listen. I won't give any spoilers, but this book adds a lot to the depth of the story and Dresden universe. I was saddened that Bob didn't get his own chapter, but time will tell.

Interesting, but Jumpy.
Revisado: 04-02-18
I feel like the audiobook version took all the cues from the book, without stopping to make sense of when the story shifted to different characters. Sometimes I'd find myself lost within a chapter when there was a character switch.
All in all though, A weird as hell book...

Historia
When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier. Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.

I didn't know what to expect upon listening to this book. To keep things brief and spoiler free, I will say what a lot of folks have said.
Many things are answered. But then many more questions are left open to speculation.
Looking forward to the next book.

Good book. Slight audio issue in one of the later chapters though. The audio skips over about 10 seconds or so when describing the meeting at the pub.

Minor issues, but still a good book.

Narrator had issues with volume. Could hardly hear the story at some parts. But good story nonetheless, like all the Dresden books.
