Historia
All of Waterdeep now knew someone was killing the Lords of Waterdeep one by one. Yet that was about where truth ended and speculation - however plausible - began. The broadsheets were full of wild conjecture. Who was behind this? The ousted Lord Neverember? The Zhentarim, the Cult of the Dragon, or some other Outland Power? The Xanathar? Some cabal of guilds or nobles planning a coup? The rumors would rage on whether the Open Lord Laeral Silverhand did something or not.

Good, but has it's flaws
Revisado: 07-27-19
while it may be a great story and I understand there is a longer running story. I feel like this book could have taken it a little better to introduce characters.
the reader does have a handful of voices. but to often the important characters overlapped so it became confusing.
The chance of perspective changes at the drop of a hat, which if you arent dedicated 99% of your attention you'll miss who the story is focusing on. only made more of an issue when the voices sound so similar.
It's good, I just wish it was better at making clear when a scene ends or have a reader with a larger range of characters for a book with so many.

Truly Bad.
Revisado: 11-03-11
I have listened to a number of audio books on here, and music usually got me in the mood for the book faster. This book takes a story and does what most Hollywood does to good books. It highlights the most unnecessary parts story and draws your focus. The "3D" experience is just as terrible in theaters as it is in this audio book, you stuck with a "oh why did I do this" and a major head ache by the end of it.
So with the beginning of the story the hero deals with his great "Tragedy", which he goes into with little focus. I found myself thinking more about other more interesting cartoons he kept pointing out during the scene of his families death. sure it's great to give details to bring the reader into the moment. The fact is the author choose to go to far to make you think of other things, as if the main character was as well. This is just personal opinion here but I don't think I would be highlighting the details about my daughters teddy bear and how I knew it well while in the carnage of a terrible accident.
I think I have truly learned my lesson and will carefully read reviews and judge whether to purchase and audio book by the sound clip provided by audible.
I do apologize to the author and the narrator if this review come across really harsh. I know this might appeal to someone, but as for me it has been a lesson to learn from. author I like the ideas and concepts and hope for the best, may your next book be a knock out. Dear Narrator, please understand some people just want the book read to them. I choose not to listen to a movie and would appreciate more work put into the characters and not just narrating. I felt that you could have inflected your voice changed the mood by your tone alone. The props of sound effects were silly and ill placed. I felt no real emotion towards the death or panic the hero was going through, just that his cat-phone meowed.
Best of luck.
