Historia
Artemio Volpe has been crowned king of Espher, restoring his ancient line to power—and inheriting the worst crisis the kingdom has ever faced. The Arazi Dragon Lords descend from the north. With flame and blade, they will purge all in their path to see the shadebound witch Orsina destroyed and their prophecies fulfilled. From the south march all the armies of the God-Emperor of Agrant, legions of soldiers backed by the unfathomable power of the living god himself.

Falls down hard with the third book
Revisado: 10-18-23
First two books were decent. Third book was rather bizarre, trying to decide between a fantasy novel and some kind of "All people with power are bad" populistscreed or something, honestly I couldn't figure out what the intent really was. The one character continues to be probably the most irrationally stupid conceived by an author to be sure (you know who she is if you've read) but takes it to new heights in this volume. I was really let down after the buildup with the first two books as the shift in tone to some kind of commentary on social hierarchy rather than following a storyline was disappointing..

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Agree with the "Turned into erotica, bail" review
Revisado: 10-18-23
I read a review, after I paid for it and had listened to about Ch 30 it just got ridiculous, where someone says it changes from fantasy to bad erotica, and I whole heartedly concur as I bailed at the same place. I fast forwarded a min here a min there, then ten min, then skipped a chapter, thinking it was a stage I could just get by as it was becoming stupid, and it was relentless and to my perception unending (at least at the point I bailed).
I'm typically not one who reviews books negatively, and this was ok up to about chapter 20.....but either this author needs to decide something or, well, get something, and focus on writing a story and getting by whatever distraction they suffer. This is not fantasy genre and it's worse than normal romance stuff if that's what you're into. The "sexual tension" turns into a fifty shades of dragons kind of thing that never actually manifests, even when it does kind of, so there isn't even that kind of direction. I'm kind of surprised this has the overall ratings it does, honestly.
As a side note, I don't pick up on the narrator being congested, some women's voices just are nasal and it really didn't bother me. She (narrator) seemed to try to give it what she could to be a raving teen erotica novel. I don't have any complaints with the narration.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Meh
Revisado: 05-17-23
My father had some festering unresolved anti catholic issues, but wow...that pales in comparison.
I mean I get the feminist bent being rather heavy handed, kind of expected that, but the a to catholic everything was really over the top. Factual errors like a bishop running an orphanage to making sure to smear every aspect from unwed mother homes to the regular priesthood. I am really not sure if it was personal in nature (my father's issues stemmed from direct personal experience) or just Seattle uber rich stuff, but really it was unnecessarily over the top. Occasional slipping ij anti capitalist "libertarian hogwash yuk yuk yuk" kind of thing, again unnecessary. Statements on homosexuality that would simply not have been made in the 50s, just back casting future ideas, errors that make it leas enjoyable even if you gat by the anti catholic hate stuff. Anti male, again, expected. The rest, if you are in to uber rich Seattle politics kind of things, maybe, otherwise find an author that has some experience with the ills they describe.

Decent info, narration needs help
Revisado: 06-25-19
Information is generally good, though I personally didn't learn that much there are undoubtedly those who can benefit by it. That said, it would be a good investment by the author to pay a professional reader. The pauses made me wonder if he had some kind of speech impediment, and the laughing at his own jokes stuff is distracting.
