Historia
"Nope, that little feller don't look like he'll amount to much." That's what almost everyone said about Little Bub. But young Joel Goss knew that Little Bub was a special colt, even though he was a runt. When schoolteacher Justin Morgan asked Joel to gentle the colt, Joel was thrilled. Little Bub proved that size and breed weren't everything. Soon word spread throughout the entire Northeast that this spirited colt could pull heavier loads than a pair of oxen and run faster than thoroughbreds.

Great true story!
Revisado: 05-28-24
I love true stories and this one was ❤️ warming! the main boy was so true and kind hearted and he persevered to the end, never giving up on his dreams but neither neglecting his duties! Such a great example and a grabbing story as well!

Encouraging & Engaging
Revisado: 05-28-24
I loved how the authoress read the book! when she read foreign languages or put on accents she did so really well! A lot of the book was info with trials that give support for reading aloud. Also real life examples. I didn't need to be convinced, but I'd say it has made me more convicted and grown the importance I give to carving time out to read with my children ages 10-2 years.

Excellent for young boys

I really liked the narrerator and hoe he made authentic accents and voices for the characters. told from the point of view of a boy 9-13yo. Even though they are a Union State/family, part of the Confederate understanding is touched upon as one brother of the family fights for the South. And there are clear examples of generals and locations, where if you wanted to pull out maps and follow, you could. it was great, my 10 yo boy listened to the whole thing in 2 days. Highly recommend.

Captivating!!
Revisado: 08-18-23
We had an almost 6 hour car ride to make and we, the kids (9yo &7yo) and I, were hooked! I didn't have any trouble staying awak during my driving time, and I normally do! We had to wait til the next day to listen to the last chapter and we could barely wait until the next morning! What a "ride" it felt like we had been on! Great story and narrated very well!

Historia
While Laura Ingalls grows up in a little house on the Western prairie, Almanzo Wilder is living on a big farm in New York State. Here Almanzo and his brother and sisters help with the summer planting and fall harvest. In winter there is wood to be chopped and great slabs of ice to be cut from the river and stored. Time for fun comes when the jolly tin peddler visits or, best of all, when the fair comes to town.

Historical & Enjoyable!
Revisado: 04-23-23
We all thoroughly enjoyed this book.... it was a long book, but hard to stop my 9 yo boy from listening! he listed to nearly 14 chapters in one day while he was feeling under the weather and he laughed and was excited for Almanzo's adventures!
We will probably be re-listening to it again soon! And, as a mother, I love all of the historical accuracy and information!

Historia
Told from four-year-old Laura's point of view, this story begins in 1871 in a little log cabin on the edge of the Big Woods of Wisconsin. Laura lives in the little house with her pa, her ma, her sisters Mary and Carrie, and their trusty dog, Jack. Pioneer life is sometimes hard for the family, since they must grow or catch all their own food as they get ready for the cold winter. But it is also exciting as Laura and her family celebrate Christmas with homemade toys and treats, do the spring planting, bring in the harvest, and make their first trip into town.

The story is of course really wonderful! I personally didn’t care for the narrators voice, but besides that it captivated my 6 year old boy and 4 year old girl and they really enjoyed listening to the story! Thanks :-)
