Historia
Almost every religion, spiritual practice, philosophy and person grapples with fear. The most repeated phrase in the Bible is “Be not afraid.” The ancient Greeks spoke of phobos, panic and terror. It is natural to feel fear, the Stoics believed, but it cannot rule you. Courage, then, is the ability to rise above fear, to do what’s right, to do what’s needed, to do what is true. And so it rests at the heart of the works of Marcus Aurelius, Aristotle, and CS Lewis, alongside temperance, justice, and wisdom.

Welcome to the fabled Gold Coast, that stretch on the North Shore of Long Island that once held the greatest concentration of wealth and power in America. Here two men are destined for an explosive collision: John Sutter, Wall Street lawyer, holding fast to a fading aristocratic legacy; and Frank Bellarosa, the Mafia don who seizes his piece of the staid and unprepared Gold Coast like a latter-day barbarian chief and draws Sutter and his regally beautiful wife, Susan, into his violent world.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Entertaining and Interesting
Revisado: 03-30-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Divergent to be better than the print version?
I wouldn't consider the audio edition better or worse, it's all a matter of preference and situation whether one reads or listens. I find I get through a book faster if I listen to it because I can multi-task. Depending on the narrator sometimes it's more enjoyable to read.
What other book might you compare Divergent to and why?
Hunger Games - young adult heroes and storyline set in the future.
Which character – as performed by Emma Galvin – was your favorite?
Beatrice/Triss was the main character and you grow to care about her and her survival skills.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
If you enjoyed Hunger Games and Twilight you will like the Divergent series.

Never a disappointment
Revisado: 11-22-13
What made the experience of listening to A Serpent's Tooth the most enjoyable?
I just love Walk Longmire, Henry Standingbear, Vic, and the gang. I never tire of Craig Johnson's stories of Apsaroka county.
What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
You know, I love George Guidall and have bought several other audio books for his narration. For whatever reason though in this book he sounded, well, tired, which made Walt Longmire sound tired and old. Not bad enough to where I didn't enjoy the book but I think we may be at a point of needing a new voice for Walt Longmire :(
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Always gave me a chuckle at the wit
Any additional comments?
This is the first time I've given a Walt Longmire/George Guidall anything less than a 5 star rating.

Revisado: 11-22-13
What disappointed you about Sea Change?
It is so unnecessary to narrate audio books with, "Harry said," "Sally said," " Said Mary," etc. It got so annoying where every sentence was introduced or ended with so-and-so said that I returned the book

Inspiring and thought provoking
Revisado: 03-01-13
Where does The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I don't normally listen to "self help" books so I as far as those types of books go I would put it in the top 10.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth?
About the chicken's always drowning when the floods came and the wife advising the husband to switch to raising ducks.
Which character – as performed by John C. Maxwell – was your favorite?
none really stand out that I can recall.
What did you learn from The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth that you would use in your daily life?
Probably the law of intentionality - you have to focus with intent if you want to grow.
Any additional comments?
Would like to listen to it again. It is about how you have to take control of your life with purpose and intent and not just let time go by. Not only do we need to take a more active role in our personal development and growth but we are here to help others achieve their best as well.

Longmire goes to Philadelphia!
Revisado: 03-01-13
If you could sum up Kindness Goes Unpunished in three words, what would they be?
Longmire, you rock!
What other book might you compare Kindness Goes Unpunished to and why?
Since Walt is in the big city of Philadelphia, I was trying to think of other mysteries based in Philly I can compare it to. But Johnson just puts such a unique spin on the story I really can't come up with anything to compare it to!
What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The personalities of the characters with his great narration. He really, really makes the Longmire series come alive.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the horse died, but I am always moved anytime an animal dies in a story, LOL!
Any additional comments?
Just have to read the books!

I recommend alll of Craig Johnson's Longmire books and all books narrated by George Guidall.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Another Man's Moccasins?
All of Johnson's stories are different. This one was about sex trafficking and took the reader into Lonmire's past as a Vietnam vet. I love getting to know more about Walt. He is such a fascinating character! Lots of twists and turns keeps the reader engaged and wanting to know how it ends.
Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?
Longmire, Henry, and Vic are all my favorite!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Poignant story about a holocaust survivor
Revisado: 03-01-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it was well written and narrated and gripping story told from the first person view of a holocaust survivor.
What did you like best about this story?
The details of what it was like to live in a concentration camp.
Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, listening to all the Craig Johnson/Walt Longmire books, This is how I discovered George Guidall and I am keen to listen to all his other books.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, nothing extreme, but was hard to "put it down." It's a short listen, 4 hours, and worth every minute.
Any additional comments?
I'm always fascinated by people overcoming the most tragic of circumstances, but they can be tough to listen to as they can be depressing, but I enjoyed this book. It was gripping but always sad knowing that humanity can be so cruel to one another. It was inspiring to hear how Wiesel overcame the hardship of the labor camp. A couple of other great books to listen to (or read) about the holocaust is Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl and Schindler's List by Thomas Keanelly. These three books will always stay with me in the back of my mind as an inspiration for overcoming the worst of human conditions.
