Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Historia
Benedict Sorellin-Lancaster hasn't even broken in his lieutenant's insignia when he's summoned to meet with the Spirearch of Spire Albion himself for a very special—and very secret—purpose. The Spirearch needs Benedict to retrieve a bag he's "misplaced" on the Colony Spire known as Dependence, which has strangely cut off all contact with the outside world. It's a delicate mission at best, a potential bloodbath at worst. To this end, the Spirearch has supplied Benedict with backup in the form of three Warriorborn.

Great but short. Did I really need to spend credit or $31 on a novella? JB I listen to all your stuff (minus that …. Dresden tv series) and liked this one but brah.

Did what Tolkien wished he could have done
Revisado: 07-16-23
In interviews Tolkien said his only regret about the lord of the rings series was that they were entirely too short. Robert Jordan is able to give us a glimpse of what the LOR could have been had the publishing business been different when Tolkien was writing. Characters fully developed and formed in a world that hints of wonders both good and evil. If your a Brandon Sanderson fan, or for that matter a fantasy fan, this is a must read series for you.

Good but not great
Revisado: 09-20-17
Love the Mitch Rapp series. Issue with this book was Flynn used the outside the beltway stereotype of the politicians and their staff. He does a better job in some of his other books at hitting the nuances with his characters. His attention to detail is what I most admire So maybe I expected too much or know too much about D.C. I still really liked the book.
By the way. What was with the Snerdly like voice for the VP's COS? Only reason I gave the performance a 4 was because of that cartoonish voice for that character. Otherwise performance was great.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Turned me into an audible zombie
Revisado: 02-25-17
Where does Columbus Day rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Same box as RPO and Bob. If you like those books you will love this one. Think Starship Troopers (one of my all time favorites) with a bit more humor and none of the long winded political lectures. Ace would have loved this book.
What did you like best about this story?
Right portions of comedy, science, and violence to make me happy. Not sure about author's history but as a former E-5 I can relate to the character.
What about R.C. Bray’s performance did you like?
Performance matched story extremely well.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Have Cheeseburgers, Will Travel

Historia
After surviving the Hunt on the Red Moon, Dane should have been happy to return to civilization, and, for a while, he was. But then he got bored. So when their proto-saurian friend Aratak asked Dane and Rianna to accompany him on a mission to a primitive world, where their fighting skills would be needed for the party's survival, Dane jumped at the chance. He should have remembered the old saying: Be careful what you wish for.

So if U want to be turned off to fantasy & sci-fi
Revisado: 01-29-17
What would have made The Survivors better?
Okay, I am a big fan of the MZB (MZB only not want-a-be MZB writers) Darkover books. The story lines and details in those books really got me reading. Survivors is nothing like Hunters of the Red Moon or the Darkover series. If the Darkover series were as bad as Survivors with its trite story lines and predictable cliches I would likely have turned away from my sci-fi and fantasy book fetish, become captain of the football team, class president, and then ruler of the world. No such luck. So if you want to be turned off to fantasy and sci-fi please read Survivors.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Ready Player One
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Found a different book to read.
What character would you cut from The Survivors?
Probably all the main including Dane, Riana, and Aratak. However, the characters were not the issue. It was the story as a whole.
