The plot is compelling, but a different reader would have made this a much more entertaining “listen”!

Historia
Drawing on previously hidden historical documents and interviews with the long-silent "illegitimate" branch of the family, William J. Mann paints an elegant, meticulously researched, and groundbreaking group portrait of this legendary family. Mann argues that the Roosevelts' rise to power and prestige was actually driven by a series of intense personal contests that at times devolved into blood sport. His compelling and eye-opening masterwork is the story of a family at war with itself, of social Darwinism at its most ruthless.

I was born in 1940 and my parents were both Democrats. Discussions about Eleanor and FDR were the norm, but I knew nothing about the rest of the family or the history of the country. This was a fascinating, informative “read” and I feel enriched for having read it.

Riveting Read
Revisado: 12-09-19
This book grasped my full attention from the first few sentences. I went through all sorts of machinations when attempting to solve the puzzle! I had never read Ms. Ellwood until this book and will certainly go back and read whatever she has written
The reader was par excellence! Marvelous voice and her interpretations of the different characters was simply perfect.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Gripping and Well Written
Revisado: 12-18-15
What made the experience of listening to The Girl on the Train the most enjoyable?
All of us have driven by the same houses/house multiple times and had fantasies about the people within. That's what first thing caught my attention....something I myself have done!
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, it did. There were so many people with motive.
Which scene was your favorite?
Too many to put down here in this review! Every chapter was gripping....a real page turner for me [Except that it was an Audible Book for me...so no ages to turn!]!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Well, I could have, I suppose, if I had nothing else to do! That would be impossible for me!
Any additional comments?
Thanks for keeping me entertained and on the edge of my seat!
