Good book but was all over the place
Revisado: 06-26-24
I think that the plot and storyline of the book was great but the book was all over the place with some stuff not matching what was said earlier. I feel some stuff just didn’t make common sense. Overall it was a good listen and I don’t regret buying the book the author just needs a little more work on her writing. I am used to listening/ reading to more mature writers.

This was a great listen! I can’t wait to listen to part 2
Revisado: 04-26-24
I think this book was a good listen. The storyline is full of ups and downs but it’s like real life. I know we hope for fairy tail endings but that’s not always the case. I love Zo he is my favorite character in this book, a dad trying to make it in life.

The story was okay. Not what I’m used to from Kwan though.
Revisado: 03-22-24
K’wan is a genius my favorite author by far but I had a few issues with this book. For me Promise is not like able at all. She so ditzy and I just can’t bring myself to like her. I did like the other characters though. I was hoping to get more of baby blue but who knows with Kwan we might. My main issue is that I thought as black people we were done shucking and jiving for lighter and whiter skin. That’s getting pretty old for me with Kwan make darker girls less than lighter girls.
I think Honey Jones makes me hate Promise because Promise acts slow and the book and Honey sounds slow while reading it. Sorry but it’s my truth.
