Historia
Chloe is one of seven students at her DC-based college who are part of an unusual clinical study of psychopaths - students like herself who lack empathy and can’t comprehend emotions like fear or guilt. The study, led by a renowned psychologist, requires them to wear smart watches that track their moods and movements. When one of the students in the study is found murdered in the psychology building, a dangerous game of cat and mouse begins, and Chloe goes from hunter to prey.

Definitely worth the credit- I didn’t see it coming
Revisado: 01-17-23
Really thought I had it all figured out, kept reading and again thought I knew “whodunit” , kept reading and I didn’t see the end coming. I loved it because I’m such an avid reader that plots are almost always the same, but with this one I definitely didn’t see it coming.

Do NOT WASTE A CREDIT
Revisado: 04-30-22
This is by far the worst book I’ve ever read. The only redemption is that Karissa Vacker narrated it well. The predictability is an insult to its readers… you can read the first four chapters and the last and it would make even a complete, yet awful short story. WASTE OF TIME.

Definitely a tough read
Revisado: 03-04-22
I love Diane Chamberlain’s work, but this was a ver hard read for me. I read to escape the politically charged society in which we live, and this book is a statement for sure. Well written with twists and turns as you would except from her work, but this one made me cry. I don’t think it was the right time for this to be released as a fictional story.

Revisado: 06-12-20
Spoiler alert: Gram gets struck by lightning, estranged Granddaughter rushed to her aid after leaving years ago to spend the entire book chasing a married, reverend whom she was best friends with growing up. Throw in the menodite community fighting the English over land, oh and don’t forget to add a creepy woman in the woods living on the land that really belongs to gran and Rachel being shunned by the community due to school bombing at the hands of her ex-husband/ former Vietnam Vet suffering from PTSD and you have a book that is slow, doesn’t do justice to any of the themes presented, and is as scattered as this review reads.

Historia
Do you know what it feels like right before lightning strikes? How you can feel the current running through your veins? The trembles of warning that ripple through the air? It was a thrill Tamar King chased all her life, until it became the very thing she had to escape. For the last four years, Tamar has hidden herself in an isolated world she created. She was safe. No one could touch her - until Lyrik West, the lead guitarist for Sunder, walked through her door.

Lightning Strikes = Pain, Joy and Release
Revisado: 10-27-16
What made the experience of listening to Where Lightning Strikes the most enjoyable?
I loved the first book in the series and had to read the next! I fell in love with "Red" who I identified so much with. Andi Arndt is OUTSTANDING in conveying the wretched, gut-wrenching pain of both Lyric and Tamar. I absolutely cried through the chapter of their last night in Savannah and had to walk away for a minute. The situation being so close to one I experienced myself. Sebastian York is one of my all time favorite narrators
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love the men of Sunder - that's like asking to pick a favorite star in the heavens. Can't wait to hear Ash's story.
Which scene was your favorite?
I loved the scene "Make it if it matters"- the idea of dark and stormy Lyric sewing and baking a cake- priceless!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
OH I CRIED - and cried and cried. Again, the last night before Lyric leaves Savannah - I had to walk away.
Any additional comments?
A.L. Jackson, not just a great story writer, but the listful language and harmonic sounds of the chosen words to convey emotion blow me away. Andi- you knocked this one out of the park and brought it home! Sebastian- well, you can put your shoes under my bed any day of the week and twice on Sundays .
