Few books suck the reader into a beautiful set of characters, places, and ideas in the light-hearted way that Tress does. Amazing narratory writing and just perfect reading and editing make this story soooooooo engrossing. Do not miss the gem!

What a lovely story about faith and it's intersection with reality. The MC is not quite believable... lucky and inspired by turns... but fun to follow, nonetheless.

If not for the endless, random, entirely unnecessary mouth sounds (it's like the sound editor has some fetish that only takes them every other week), the performance would be masterful. Characters are distinct and full of personality. BUT THE LIPS... AAAAAARRRGH!

This book starts slow... but just give it until the end of the 3rd chapter. I was disappointed with Magic 2.0 but Scott really comes through here.

And there are not enough good things to say about Luke's performance. Truly a master.

Not sure why a keep coming back to this. My 6 yr old uses ChatGPT to create better stories with better writing and better characters.

But it's somehow fun to listen to it. Even with the awkward use of pronouns and nouns.

The author doesn't take himself too seriously... Characters have depth to be interesting outside of the main plot line. But be warned: you gotta start on book 1.

As always, Nick Podehl is a gift to all who can hear.

"The Father of American LitRPG", on the other hand, has produced an underwhelming attempt at the genre. Although the first chapter starts strong, the quality tapers rapidly. Characters are very thin and weakly developed. The story lacks texture and/or interesting features.

The experience of the audiobook is akin to watching a bunch of total newbs play through their very first campaign while comparing the experience to an episode of Dimension 20. It's really that cringe.

It is surprising and refreshing to see a natural perspective on the nature of humans and humanity, with careful focus on Sapiens.

In the style of Plato and Socrates, Harari makes seemingly brazen assertions about humanity that become the only reasonable explanation or model for what humanity is. This may not satisfy some, but in this book I found a companion and a champion for a more rational view of our history and present.

Even though that present is now 10 years or of date and Harari underutilizes the impacts of some important historical developments in our recent human history, his tendency toward caution over hyperbole creates a captivating and thought provoking tour of the human condition.

TLDR: Awesome. Thought provoking. As objective as a scientific perspective will allow.

Seriously though.... This lighthearted romp through a post apocalyptic future is great! Get it while they references are still hot!

One of the best listening experiences of the last 10 years. Or pretty much ever.
