Historia
So begins a press release from a mysterious group known only as “The Five,” shortly after a vicious predator is murdered in San Francisco. The Five is made up of vigilante killers who are very bored…and very rich. They target the worst of society—rapists, murderers, and thieves—and then use their unlimited resources to offset the damage done by those who they’ve killed, donating untraceable Bitcoin to charities and victims via the dark net. The Five soon become popular figures in the media …though their motives may not be entirely pure.

Historia
When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Bill Rustad and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

Lame, lame, lame!
Revisado: 06-11-19
Interesting premise.. but ends up sounding like an episode of Giligan’s Island! Can’t stand the narrator’s voice for female characters. Just ruins the characters.

Taking listeners back to the days of TaB cola, dot matrix printers, and digging through the couch for just one more quarter, Alex Rubens combines his knowledge of the tech industry and experience as a gaming journalist to conjure the wild silicon frontier of the 8-bit ’80s. 8-Bit Apocalypse: The Untold Story of Atari's Missile Command offers the first in-depth, personal history of an era for which fans have a lot of nostalgia.

Absolute waste of time!!
Revisado: 03-30-19
After listening to “Masters of Doom” by David Kushner and “Minecraft” by Daniel Goldberg & Linus Larsson, I was constantly on the lookout for another video (or pc) game story. These two books were truly a lot of fun to listen to.
When I saw “8-Bit Apocalypse” listed on audible, I really got excited to listen to this story. Missile Command was a great game from the ‘80s and I just had to hear the story. So I bought it!
First, I must say that the narrator, Ryan Burke, wasn’t bad. The story, though, was a complete waste of time. Just garbage! There was practically no story! The whole thing could have been compressed into 15 minutes. There was just sooo muuuuch fluff!! It’s as if the author got a 2 minute interview from the creator with random tidbits and decided to whip up a whole story around what little he had!
