Narrative insight into being human.

Claude Brown was a human being with his eyes open to other people's humanity. Much could be fixed in this world if people could listen to the messages in this book.

Cary Hite has the narration down to where I can feel like I'm there, and so I can just listen to this over and over - and so I did.

Would you listen to The Children of Hurin again? Why?

I have listened to this audiobook many times, and will probably hear it again. It is excellently and succinctly written. The story takes place in the first age of Tolkien's legendarium. Christopher Lee reads it with the weight of a Norse Saga, and you can experience high adventure as part of a very mythic story. Tolkien wrote and rewrote this story many times over the course of his life and hearing it read by an excellent reader lets you appreciate it as a story in the way that a mythic saga should be experienced: as a communication between people rather than a structure on paper.

What other book might you compare The Children of Hurin to and why?

I would compare this book to a great story you would hear from a friend across the table, over a meal or a campfire.

Which scene was your favorite?

Turin is crawling, and clinging underneath and unseen by the giant, slimy, stinking worm-like dragon.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was preoccupied for days with this story when I first heard it.

Would you consider the audio edition of Skip Tracing Basics & Beyond to be better than the print version?

Highly concrete, and cohesive. Hearing it, you see things through a skip tracer's eyes, with no effort. I walked away with the knowledge, and self confidence to do what I wanted, and be what I wanted.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

If you want to be an entrepreneur, or you have decision power at your company, you'll feel the weight come off your shoulders while you do your work, and listen to this in the background.
